  1. as a question, what can you keep with ray's? do they basically need a tank to themselves?

    Reduced Flow

lol...yeah...it's weird, because it was working fine for quite a while, and I've never had the hoses off it, so I'm really wondering how the heck I ended up with that piece in there...

    Reduced Flow

ok, so I got frustrated and pulled all the hoses off, rinsed em all out, and as an experiment pulled the spray bar off and put the normal nozzle thing on instead. plugged the filter back in and heard something rattling around, then out shoots the back piece of a pen...reduced flow problem located...have no idea how it got in there though...

    Reduced Flow

seems to...I dunno...I just tore it all apart again, rinsed out everything except the bio star deals...just doing a water change while I'm at it, I'll see if it helps again...

    Reduced Flow

today I noticed that my tank water level was a little on the low side, and the spray bar wasn't making nearly as much noise as normal. I had the same problem a little while back and took the filter apart looking for something to point the finger at and found nothing, but when I put it back together again it seemed to work ok...I don't know :S any one have anything specific I should look at for why a filter would be pushing a LOT less water than normal?
  6. I use a rebel XTi, like RDfishguy says, it's not a point and shoot camera by any stretch, but once you figure all the buttons out it's a very capable camera...
  7. there's a place in calgary in the NE that sells em too...right next to the humpty's by marlborough mall...can't think of the name for the life of me
  8. none of the pictures in that other thread work for me...are these the ones with the rounded corners? the girlfriend really wanted me to get one, but it was right after I had bought the current tank, so that was a no go...how much do they go for roughly? who's got the best prices?
  9. yeah...the female is hiding behind the rocks in that picture, but she's just as red...I tried all sorts of methods of using the flash and they all made him look orange...but that picture shows pretty much exactly the color that he looks in the tank...
  10. I use a rebel XTi with the flash turned off, put it on shutter speed priority, set it to around 1/20th of a second and ISO of around 800 - 1600, then just take a LOT of shots of the same thing...usually I use manual focus and just wait for the fish to come to me :P not the greatest shots, but I'm gettin better
  11. that big male makes me want to have frontosa...he rules...once the fry get will you be selling them?
  12. don't think he's a taiwan reef...taiwan reef's generally have a red anal fin with white spots don't they?
  13. I have web space...e-mail em to go4long@hotmail.com and I'll post em up for ya...
  14. bought new test kit, amonia is 0, nitrite is 0.25 ppm
  15. a little swollen in the belly kinda area...where it's red...no external marks at all, water checks out(provided my amonia test actually works)...
  16. she didn't make it...would still like to know what was affecting her to know if it was contagious or not. Lwanda female is survived by her loving husband, her 4 surviving fry(clown loaches are assholes), and her new wild caught friend...
  17. I came home this morning and my female Lwanda was floating upside down near the bottom of the tank, breathing(slowly) but apparently unable to right herself, the area immediately in front of her anal fin appears swolen and red, but there's nothing external that I can see...if she's going to die I don't want her to suffer...
  18. yeah, I think the bio load in my 96 is a touch high for the XP3, so I'm thinkin I might pick up an AC110 on the weekend, I know where I'm goin :P
  19. yeah...I was shopping around on my XP3, I called pisces and asked if they would price match(it was a thursday and I really wanted my filter that day) he asked with who, I said golds, he said that he would price match anyone other than golds.
  20. well, I wrangled the female into a breeder box last night and she spit her fry out, so I now have a whole bunch of Lwanda fry. I got the whole tank back together and while I was watchin the fry in the breeder box one of my Pseudocrenilabrus Nicholsi females was cruisin around near it and I noticed she's got a huge mouthful goin too(she's pretty small so I'm fairly surprised). this is my first experience with fry so I hope some survive.
  21. he's frickin awesome...the dolphin will take some time to get back to good shape I figure(just the fin damage though, nothin to worry about), but this guy I just put him in the tank and immediately I looked at my other fish and was like, you ALL suck :P
  22. yes, I'm moving the bicolor's out as soon as I find someone to take em...I like this guy more than them :P
  23. I went there for something else...he said he was trying to get rid of him, and I couldn't believe it...like I said, I love him, and his female is holding. The only problem is I just picked up a bicolor peacock trio at golds earlier in the week, now I would imagine those two can't go together
  24. got this off another board member(hope your wife didn't get to mad man), he's still settling in, and I didn't want to take to many pictures out of fear of the female getting scared and swallowing the mouthful she's holding...but here's my new guy I love him already
