  1. Well I put him back with his buddies today and all is good. He's one lucky fish as I was gonna throw him in with the baby Birchers after day 3 but was worried about spreading disease.
  2. Very sharp looking male is he done coloring up ? Looks like he may get intense yet.
  3. Maybe this old chinese proverb can help--Monkey see monkey do.
  4. If the leo is the one that's black with yellow spots that was there for 3-4 months then I'm serious.

  6. I'm not big on water conditioners and out of 30 fish I only had a problem with 1 but I will go to Elite and p/u the juice. What I'm planning to do with these fish is get more and put them in the 120 gal tub in the sunroom as soon as it warms up a bit so I want things to be perfect
  7. I was under the impression that Calgary water was close to what is in their natural habitat

  9. I was following the feedback posts when a AA member got screwed on Aquabid it was nasty. Physical violence against family members was threatened, lawsuits, insults, etc. It was pretty bad(the AA member did not participate in the gong show)

  11. The fish appears to be back in good health eating and swimming fine. The 1st 3 days after I moved him to a pickle jar he got worse and worse just spinning around almost upside down in circles then I forgot about him thinking he was finished so yesterday I go to clean out the jar and he's fine!
  12. I'm looking for one of those live food strainer quizmos that separate live food into different size groups(ponds are melting) Anybody know where I can get one or have any plans on constructing one-Thanks
  13. could you boil the shell till the fish disintegrated ? (then add onions, celery, tomatoe and cream)
  14. It's very easy to give negative feedback, when dealing with livestock loads of problems can occur and it's always easy to point a finger at the seller.I've bought fish from people on this site and lost them real quick (could have been my fault I'm not sure )but I bought them because I was getting them at a large discount and know that with freshly imported fish there is a certain amount of risk. I would hate to see these people stop bringing in fish because their reputation is being tarnished by some negative feedback.Thankfully I've not dealt with anybody that I would have given negative feedback too,but sombody else with different expectations and experience could have roasted them.
  15. In the photo it sure looks like its holding eggs Did you notice if it had any white stringy poop that is usually a sign of bloat also Cichlids with bloat usally feed they just spit it out after a little chewing.I've had a female Flameback change sex to a male even thou it had bred a few times ,after the lone male in the group died perhaps they can change from male to female also
  16. Quantity Discount-20%
  17. Golds had them last week 4.99 each
  18. I've been feeding them strained ( for size ) frozen daphnia/cyclops mix and crushed NLS flake I've only been feeding them about 25% of what I'm guessing they could eat daily because they're still new and I usualy wait a week before feeding heavily I'm starting to suspect he just cracked his head as they are very skittish and explode all over the tank at the slightest movments.(I hope that is the problem anyway)
  19. Yeah I removed right away Unfortunatly the rest are in my hospital/quarrantine tank so all it gets is a pickle jar I just hope it's not contagious.
  20. No they're not breeding yet just got them last Friday
  21. One of my Galaxies is sideways and swimming in circles and his eyes look bulged out. The other 29 look fine. Should I flush it or is it curable ?Thanks
  22. I like Hobs mostly because I've never had a sump
