Fishful Thinking
I am looking at putting a small tank together with the following combination so far: Dwarf Rasbora Dwarf Botia Pygmy Corydoras Two questions: 1. Will these be compatible? 2. Are there any other dwarf/pygmy varieties of fish that would work in this tank? Thanks.
Sam Chicklets
It should work, but I'm not sure what the dwarf botia are. You could try some endlers live bearers, and there is another type of dwarf cory as well. Edited July 29, 2007 by Sam Chicklets
Fishful Thinking
I think they are just a loach, a small one though. Thanks for the help, Nick. Do you know who sells dwarf cories?
Osprey
They're hard to come by, even in the specialty stores. You'll have to keep an eye out. A number of habrosus cories were imported last Febrary (I think? somewhere around there); I haven't seen them since. Hastatus and pygmaeus are two more options. Another suggestion is sparkling gourami.
Vallisneria
Nature's cornerstore sometimes has pygmy cories or dwarf cories

I'm thinking it will go in one of our kitchen's corner shelves.
Slough Shark
The Dwarf Chain Loach (Botia sidthimunki) usually costs quite a bit, and will require a group of like 5 I read. I know because I did research on them when planning one of my Tanks, the price tag and availability turned me off on them. I think that your tank would really look great with a group of Pygmy/Sparkling Gourami. They're really beautiful- though i don't know how available they are. The tank could probably use an Otto or two as well to keep algae low down. Good luck planning, Taylor

I believe some loaches are a seasonal fish so thats why they are harder to come by during certain parts of the year. Or they are more expensive out of season. Fishful Thinking
I have a pea puffer w. your name on it!! And, one with Heather's name on it to!!! The pea puffer is a great call. Saw some at Aquarium Enthusiasts...massive temptation! We still need to buy the setup for the tank, though.
Slough Shark
Maybe you should get an eclipse system 6. They're easy to maintain, have a good canopy to keep in the jumpers, and they're small.
Fishful Thinking
Thanks for all of the help. I am weighing the options right now. The main concern right now is finding a tank that fits where we want it to go and convincing my wife that when I promised to stop at two tanks, I was a complete and total liar and that she shouldn't hold that against me.
