bigfishal
Can someone help me i'm wondering if I really do need a skimmer for a saltwater tank? I did have a small 10 gallon saltwater going about 2 years ago with some live rock and 2 clown fish and did not have a protine skimmer on it and they did great for about 1 year until my heater locked up and cooked everything!! Im looking at going for a 20g - 33g.So I just want to know If it would be ok not to have a skimmer again? What do they do for the tank are they a real must?? Thanks for the help!! snaggle
My reef tank is skimmer less but I find that the algae builds up too fast if you miss a water change so I am going to add a skimmer once I can save up for one.
