Slough Shark
Here are some new and old pics of two species of native fish; the Lake Whitefish (Coregonus clupeaformis), and the Walleye (Sander vitreus).... First comes the Walleye juvenile (I think I posted this pic before) And the older specimens.. Here are the whitefish shots, I think these guys may have become my new favorite native fish- they look and taste great! What do you think? Slough Shark
Thanks! I did go ice fishing, all these shots are of fish from Pigeon Lake. Unfortunately, the Walleye populations here are sensitive, so we can't keep any of them for eating- but the Whitefish are more than enough compensation! I agree, those Whitefish scales are crazy. I think that is my favorite native fish shot 'cause its the reason why I love those fish so much. Now I am challenging myself with catching them in the summer (which might be difficult since I have no Sonar or GPS unit). Taylor
