Drydock
Anyone used Teflon tape with bulkheads? White or pink or doesn't matter? Edited August 28, 2008 by For Lack of a Better Term
Qattarra
Funny you should ask...lol. I was out today and it was suggested to me to put teflon tape on the ends of my filter tubing connectors prier to screwing the other part on to long term reduce the risk of leakage. He told me that in full contact with the water there was no risk of contaminations. As for the colour, he never said.
Sam Chicklets
White Teflon is rated for pot-table water, the pink is rated for natural gas and propane, but I'm not sure about pot-table water.
jvision
I use white teflon tape on my ponds and tank. Alternatively, you can put a bead of silicon around the fittings, too. Edited August 28, 2008 by jvision
darkangel
I use teflon tape on all my tubing connections. No problems here.
firestorm
I used teflon tape for the fittings on my RO unit. So I assume it would be safe in an aquarium.
Medicdude
Potable water is drinking water so yes it is perfectly safe (the white stuff). I used it on all of my installations.

I was refering to the pink being safe for potable water. Sorry for the confusion.
