sherlock
A few months ago I planted a red lotus bulb. It was doing very well, producing a few decent sized leaves. Then the first shoot skyrocketed towards the surface and I stupidly let it go and open up on the top of the water. I only left it for a day before cutting it off, but now that is all the plant is doing, sending the shoots up. I cut them off when they start, but I am wondering if the plant is screwed up now or will it eventually start growing normal leaves again?? jvision
It'll start producing short leaves again in a bit.
Sean Cassidy
Just keep trimming it. It will produce leaves eventually. Everytime you see a folded leave come up cut off. I have had this problem before and didn't have patience so I cut the whole thing off right down to the bulb. You don't need to do this though. Do you use ferts? If not this should help. Baos
Eventually it'll shoot up a nice flower.
jvision
Eventually it'll shoot up a nice flower. Only if you let the pads grow; if you keep the pads (shoots) from reaching the surface, it'll start to send out runners. It may do that regardless.
