RTG_Gerry
The first pic is a pic I've been chasing for some time now. These fish fire their jaws out and retract them so quickly, it's almost by sheer luck that I could get this shot. I hope you enjoy Gerry

Ekim81
Fantastic pics! I see you are using 2 overhead flashes for these, but how do you get the rest of the pic so dark? Are you shooting with the tank lights off? I really like the contrast you are getting with whatever method you are using. RTG_Gerry
Thanks, folks! Ekim, tank lights are on during shoot. 80 watts of light actually. :)The effect is an optical illusion of sorts. Essentially the sensor picks up the lighting from the flashes and because it's so bright, sees the rest of the tank behind the light as simply darker, hence the result. It really helps to be working with a tank that is 2 feet front to back. With a narrower tank, the background is more evident in the pic. Slough Shark
Awesome shots. I like your feeding action shots, it's cool to see which fish suck their food in and which ones bite it.
