jvision
Is the worm attached to your fish? If not, it's not a parasite. If you feed a little zealously, chances are you have some nematode worms in the tank - they're quite common and not really harmful to anything. BettaFishMommy
do the worms 'swim' in an S formation? if so, you have planaria. harmless unless you have fry. overfeeding and not gravel vacc'ing the substrate are two main causes of planaria overpopulating. strayner
Does it have a flattened body with a slightly angular head region? does it stretch its body back and forth?
jvision
Planaria generally crawl along surfaces, looking more like a tiny slug. The different nematodes can swim thru the water in an S pattern. Neither are harmful and will be eaten by just about any fish that can see them.
