jewels
Has anyone ever used Hydroton as bio-media? I am thinking about crushing it and dropping a mound of it into my sump.
jvision
Looks like it could be a great BioMedia. Also, with it's high CEC, it'd be great in planted tanks - place one or two under your Crypts & swords to hold nutrients for them.
SourceAquatics
I use them in my canister filters. I find them to be VERY similar to the aquaclear "bio-max" They retain a TON of bacteria. I do find that the filters need to be cleaned more often with these though.

jewels
chemi pure? Of course they will never tell you , , , but - it looks like its nothing more than carbon. No amount of deoderant will help when one needs soap !
JLake
I have heard good things about chemi pure but not from anyone I know. I was hoping to find someone who used it.
