Hemi Posted June 14, 2005 Report Share Posted June 14, 2005 I have a chance to get a few panes (new) from our arena and build a 2x4 frame to mount them in then seal the glass with silicone Tank would be around 500 gal anyone ever thought of this or any drawbacks?? Majestic_Aquariums Posted June 23, 2005 Report Share Posted June 23, 2005 Sounds like a cool tank! I know that the glass @ the Westerner here in Red Deer is 5/8". That should be thick enough. The only thing that would scare me if I was to do the same thing; how much silicone do you need to use to hold it all together, and what amount of bracing would you need @ the top of the tank?
