BettaVishVish
The light fitting on my fluval edge has a brownish mark. It looks like it's a sign of corrosion or maybe burnt sign. It only happen on the right side. This may also explain why I always have to change the bulb on the right earlier than the one on the left side. For information, I had used 3 bulbs on the right, and only use 1 for the left. Has someone here have the same issue? Is it safe to still use it? thanks. The-Influence
I never had that problem but I never used the stock hogan bulbs . IMO they are too hot for that fixture . If yer using mr11 or mr16 bulbs then I don't know what to tell ya . But if yer not running MR11's I'd recommend you do . They are way cooler and all out better ! The-Influence
Maybe the wiring then or one of the sockets are defected . If ya where in Edmonton I could give ya a new set of MR16 sockets / tomb stones . Blake
Cgy_Betta_Guy
picture? also... I am betting that its just corrosion since the stock filter is more to the right of the opening and splashes water up.
BettaVishVish
Thanks..too bad I'm not in Edmonton hehe. I wonder if the lighting fixture is sold separately by Hagen. What I meant is the whole black, plastic part where the lights are installed. I just thought maybe it's safer to just change the whole part completely. BettaVishVish
picture? also... I am betting that its just corrosion since the stock filter is more to the right of the opening and splashes water up. The image I was trying to post here is still too big even after I resized it. Apparently.. I only have 44kb left out of the 1 MB images I can upload here

Vallisneria
You could also contact the manufacture and ask them about the discoloration. If its faulty they might send you a new one.
BettaVishVish
@jvision: yeah..I probably should. @val: I contacted the rep today and asked if they sell the part...we'll see what happen. Hopefully I'll get the update this week.
