electronic_brick
Help! I have a mouth brooding cichlid that spit out her eggs as I tried to move her to a safer tank. Will she ever pick them back up?
electronic_brick
I think she answered my question for me. She's picked up all but 1! Phew! Now lets hope they hatch!
electronic_brick
On second thought.. maybe she just ate them??

digital-monk
sounds like her first time holding? She'll get the hang of it.
electronic_brick
She's definitely young. I just got her and she came holding. If i'm lucky I have a male that she can breed with.
Jayba
I always move mine after dark with a flashlight. They pretty much sleep through the move......
electronic_brick
Thanks for the advice. If she ends up holding again I will do that.
bigfishal
Most of the time if they loose them they will pick them up again whether they eat them or not depends on if she feels here eggs are threatened and she will just eat them due to her feeling its the best for them........ This is where a Egg Tumbler come in great use lol Hint Hint.......Just saying..... Good luck!

This is where a Egg Tumbler come in great use lol Hint Hint.......Just saying..... Good luck! I'm inclined to agree with the egg tumbler. I've kept some tropheus moori and they spawned quite frequently and also ate the eggs too. What I did was wait 2 weeks from the day they spawned, then grabbed the female early in the morning when she least expected it and gently emptied the eggs out of her mouth. I built my own tumbler using pantyhose wrapped over a pop bottle cut in half and adding an airstone. With luck yours will most likely spawn again in a few days. Gluck!
