creekbottom
I'm trying to decide which fish to get. I have a 10 gallon planted cherry shrimp tank. I wasn't really sure about putting fish in but there are so many other things living in there besides the shrimp I think I want some predation! I've narrowed it down to: Boraras brigittae Microdevario kubotai Danio choprae (last choice I think) feather fin rainbow Wondering what other shrimp keepers think, as well as availability of these. SuperGuppyGirl
I'd nix the danio off myself, have tried these in my cherry tank and had a population decrease as they went for the adults as well as shrimplets. I think the chili's and the micros would be the better choices, giving beautiful color addition and movement.
Wingin' It
featherfin rainbows are awesome!!! Luv those guys! I kinda miss mine!
blink
My wife's 12 long has Boraras Maculata and Microdevario kubotai in with the shrimp and we haven't noticed any kind of population decline. Even if we had, I'd be more inclined to believe it was the panda garras who are getting fat and sassy off shrimplets.
Aysha
I couldn't be happier with my micro setup. The 12 long above^ I think I've got photos of them happy with my shrimps. http://albertaaquatica.com/index.php?showtopic=38488#entry2271234
creekbottom
I was kind of thinking that about the Danio's, thanks. So, has anyone seen the other three species around town anywhere? Or I could wait for a group order. Would be nice to see some in person though. blink
Aquarium Central and Big Al's both have the Kubotai, Al's has them as green rasbora iirc Al's also has a bunch of Boraras, not sure which species they have and don't have but they usually have 2-3 different kinds. SuperGuppyGirl
Aquarium Central has the kubotai and the threadfins. I haven't seen any of the Chili's anywhere, which sucks cause been wanting to get my hands on some for awhile.
