EowynJane
I need plants that my cichlids are less likely to eat, I have yellow labs and yellow tail acei in the tank, I've planted it twice and both times they've eaten all of the plants Anyone have any suggestions? nancyr
anubias is the only thing that consistently works, everything else gets uprooted or gone.
jvision
I've had plenty of success with Java fern and Anubias spp. If they're well fed, they often leave Valisneria alone, too.
jeremoose
Some cichlids aren't tolerant of any plants whatsoever, I had a rock heavily planted with anubias and placed it in my 150g. It didn't last a week, every leaf was eaten.
flash_oesc
mbuna are veggie eaters...tasty tasty plants are too enticing My mbuna tank has 2 boxes of cichlid stones, some drift wood, and a few fake plants...
EowynJane
LoL - They do love the plants. I do currently have an anubias in there but it's not doing very well, there's a lot of algae. Should I give up on having plants in there altogether?
