Are you sure it is not just a bristle nose pl*co with "ICH"?

I beleive they are the same outside diameter, so it will work.

The won bros is the best, but at almost twice the price of the via-aqua. I think the via-aqua is the best deal. It is what i use.

I use Titanium heaters in my 165g. They are by far the easiest to set w/ excelent accuracy, and never break. ---> (They are Dovii proof) It is usualy the light that the fish will attack, but titaniums have the light on the external control box, Not on the heater itself. If you want a glass heater then i would choose a Ebo.

Well since you live in calgary. There is more than enough places to get free slate. Question: Where is this magical place that gives away free slate? Answer: The mountains, A river bank, or stream. (Just make sure you don't take any from a national park.)

I had some extra money this year so bought a wack load of Full spectums and actinics. Which i got a excelent price."Thanks Jack" The ratio i use is 2 full spectrums to 1 actinic, but when they burn out i will just go to Home-Depot and buy some Elcheapo $5 grow lights.

Thanks everyone. Live and learn i quess. It's just too bad that a beautiful & expensive fish died because i never thought to block off the top off the filter.(stupid me) Hopefully someone will read this and see a problem waiting to happen in their own tank and fix it.

I know i tried to get those little beautys off of you. To no avail.

Update: R.I.P. GNP It was a internal over-flow filter. And Tim your not kidding about Pl*cos being the most expensive fish in the tank, but that's a good thing cause i wouldn't have as many cichlids as i do if they were big bucks.

So i went to the cabin on friday night, and when i got back sunday evening i was looking for my new GNP. I couldn't find the sucker anywhere so i started lifting all the rocks and wood to try and find him, but he was nowhere to be found. So i decided to look in my over flow filter, and low and behold, there he was caught up in the filter floss w/ only his head in the water. (freak-out) He seems to be fine now, but i put some egg-crate in there so we don't have another houdini disappering act again. :P

That's one bad-@$$ tank! Someday i'll have one like that. $$$$$$

I have to agree w/ degrassi a nicely planted ram tank would be a beautiful setup. , But rudy has some excelent choices as well. Oh by the way rudy, you owe me 5 seconds of my life!
