  6. I don't know if this is the right place but it's has saved me a bit of money, thought i'd tell yous I've been useing becket brand chlorine and chloramine conditioners, it's for ponds and we buy it at rona for nine dollars, in a 473 ml size, according to the bottle does everything aquaplus does, but it's also extra strength use only 5ml for 20 galons(aqua plus requires 10 ml for 10 gallons), my last bottle of aquaplus cost about ten dollars and was only 273 ml at petland. Canisters.

I have a 403, my baskets are full to the top, basket one is sponge, then two has biomax toped up with filter floss, basket three has filter floss on the bottom a bag of "african cichlid" gravel and more fluval biomax
  8. I have five johanni It's blue(and contains some though little brown), but not as solid blue as my male, or my other questionable fish that is nice bright blue but has fellow fins
  9. Well one of my questionably female johanni seems to be holdignt the throat seems smaller than i would hav expcted but it is definitely expanded so that's what i'm thinking it also hasn't eaten in about a week. Techically these will be my first cichlid fry, i am in the process of raiseing some fancy tailed comets from my pons, and I have a baby kennyi cichlid in my tank (??), i plan to raise theses and hopefully this thread will remainactive and i can get some help here from the local experts, First things first, though can somemone help me confirm it's holding? I don't have a didgicam but is their something else that could indicate this? What equipment will i need i'm thinking just, a 20 g aquarium with glass top, heater, and spongefilter? is a canopy important? What the best way to do this, SHould i remove the female first? I have read a little but don't feel comfortable stripping, so how bout leaveing the female in the breeding tank with them till she's free swimming? Are they gonna be hard to get rid of sell give away? Thankyou for help, I really apreciate anything
  10. hey birger It's good you came
  11. I think it will work b ut the souliosi are yellow only orange i can think of is a lombardoi and probally not a good match with your fish
  12. me too, ha Good luck with that door
  13. Yeah i;m sur it is in the right position, so i'll come in sometime this week might see about bringing back my extra male johanni and elongatus too, you guys do that right?
  14. It's is a lees one, The problem to me as i'm not sure how it works is that even if piece that connects to the tap is in the syphon position it still sends water through the hose?
  15. Bought a python from riverfrontthey were on sale i'm too lazy and i only have two tanks, oh well, but it won't work

    Hey

I'm 15, what's your age, goodluck this is real fun eh? And welcome
  17. He ate the whole snail? That big one? Awsome pics though Oh and I have a ten gallon that'l be empty soon, What do you all think Puffers or Ocellatus? (don't mean to hijack jus thought i'd drop the question in here for someone who's kept em, will move if you mind)
  18. I've heard bad things about beefheart have you guys considered this or is it just a myth, cause from what I read I fish cannot digest mammal fats and this is a major cause of bloat [true or false]
  19. So i was at Golds, they are all out of Lombardoi, and maingano, and johanni The I was going home and my Dad asked if I wanted to go to pisces well we were their just monday buying goldfish for the pond and all the cichlids were too small, so I was like we'll try riverfront. Just cause i hear about on here but myself was never really impressed by it. But I bought a,most all my fish there. Three Kennyi, seven johanni, and seven elongatus. All for a Grand total of 200 dollars what a ripoff compared to Gold's at least. Anyways I saved 20 dollars by buying the membership so i'm a member and got forty dollars off. Was gonna by a python but chicken out cause i already spent 200 dollars. Now I'm haveing troubles figureing out how much to feed them added my labs, But am afraid they are to small to add my male kennyi and venustus. Gotta go back now buy the python only about 70 dollars for members right now, woohoo I get so save SOME money. Of course i decided this after doing an 80% water change to a 90 gallon tank by filling a five gallon pail with 1 gallon pails from the tap for two hours and emptying it Via a small syphon and again one gallon pails. So know all i need is say two Yellow labs From Freshmike and some synos from Fishboy if i hear from him Nice talking to ya'll
  20. I just used a pop bottle to drip amonia into my tank while i was gone cut off one end and stuffed the other with coffee filters Alot of that stuff looks really cool but it's more for a multiple tank person eh but i might try that aquaclear thing if i ever get fry cause i hear a ac 200 is too powerfull when running
  21. Ooh you did almost what I did not the best idea, My gues is 1. maylandia lombardoi, 2. nimbochromis venustus, and 4. pseudotropheus scofoli, the nimbochromis will be at least 8 inches, the other two should get five in a ten gallon tank i had lot's of agression and would suggest upgradeing your tank size to atleast 50 as soon as possible about five months at the most scofoli would be of the snow white variety that's why it's hard to recognize i think, they get them in ocasionally at pisces and i believe that it is just from specialty breeding and not an albino
  22. So how'd you get yours Sorta wandering mainly where you took back the extras how many you baught anything else? Thanks for any info
  23. my mbuna tend to run into everything but i do have a kenyi chseing them so it may be different in your tank i wouldn't risk it my fish would run into it for sure, so if it's sharp i vote no, but i don't really know what it is
