  1. OK I missed something I see XTi? What kind of camera patrick?
  2. Nothing BIG yet! I did say Yet And yeah thats why I haven't been there in a while. They seem to crap on everyone who isn't them But if you want to show tham up own a couple of Channa, those american boys arn't allowed to have them their mommy says
  3. A crack tho has thrown most of the structural integrity out the window. With the Plywood it does sound a little stronger but man...hope it goes into your basement
  4. Your only Question should be, "what is the cost of Peace of mind?" do you repair it and come home a little while later because there is water all over and a hell of a lot work ahead of you? Or do you just replace the entire tank? Have you priced out the glass to repair against the new tank price? When you do that remember to add in time and work. Also how much experience do you have in repairs. I have a 100G corner bow that has a broken bottom. My choices are... 1 piece of glass on top of the bottom (fit entire tank) and pray. Or get two pieces and "sandwich" them together on the bottom. (again full size of tank pieces) and then pray. I found that the price of the glass + time + work does not equal peace of mind. At the end of the day I want to come home and feed and look at the fish, not clean up because I thought I would save a few bucks! My .02ยข EDIT: sorry if I come off strong that is just the type of person I am...this is a big tank we are talking about
  5. Glad I only use the best. Hey Neil
  6. GREAT SHOTS!! When shooting with macro how far away from the object are you?

    New Guy

Welcome to you and your beautiful aquarium
  8. Did you add any rocks or wood from a river or out doors, sometimes they leach into the water. I am curious what colour the murky water is
  9. Hey Val, Mine changed colour all the time, dont worry about it. Next time it might be super bright, or super dark!
  10. And that is where my dilemma is in full swing. I have a 150 that houses a whack of fish, but the breeders would be coming out to go into the tank that was emptied by the sale of some fish. After I decide what fish to sell there will be a huge change around in this house and then the breeding will begin
  11. Actually I have a 72 Bowfront that houses the loaches, fronts, and leleupi. Seems to have been working well over the last year or so. The SH are in a tank of their own. 75G The fish I am looking at breeding are my F1 Ngara Flametails, Possibly blue Dolphins as well. Both are constantly holding but I have been letting them spit into the main tank. As of last night my wife is really pushing me to keep the Fronts, and if I do that then I will be selling the SH's, that will free up the 75G for a growout tank. She couldn't ask me what to sell so I could fit another tank, she simply stated that she really missed having all these babies around. but mentions it al the time. Dunl: Have you seen my kids? If I sold one of them I would have enough money to build a garage, and the next thing I would hear is why there isn't cars parked in there, but I wouldn't have this dilemma of not enough tanks.
  12. Yes I do but that still doesn't really help I am open to ANY suggestions
  13. My wife has been bugging me to start keeping babies and grow them out but doesn't want another tank. So here is my dilemma, Out of everything I can think of it comes down to selling one tank worth of inhabitants. Choices are F2 Mpimbwe Frontosa's, yoyo loaches, and leleupi's. OR my three Channa Bleheri (rainbow snakeheads) I love all the fish lots and cannot decide but I think it is in my best interest to TRY and keep the wife happy. Suggestions PLEASE!!
  14. Right on Harold!!!! Good for you buddy
  15. Good luck with that. Harold and I talked about that stuff a while back. He swears by it. Gorgeous father!!!
  16. Good for you. I usually walk in and out but they caught my eye
  17. I was at petland the otherday getting the ussual crickets and noticed they are now selling NLS. When did that happen? They didnt have a very big selection and the prices were more than what it costs at other places but still...Petland? Good for them. Neil are you filling their orders? Hope so. Anyway just thought I would share.
  18. Muskie, Northern Pike, and Bass (largemouth, smallmouth and rock) is what I am used to. Of course you always get perch and sunfish in the mix. Still I dont think I could have taken pictures of them that were anywhere near that quality
  19. Nice Teeth!! Those pictures sure make me miss the Ont. fishing.
  20. Due to a family emergency I will be unable to attend this meeting.
  21. I find keeping my 3 together seems to work well, they were introduced to the tank at the same time so they show their dominance once in a while but not problems between them. I am running an AC500, with a bubble wand (more for the look) With the three in there, there is always lots of movement. A few baby fish to allow the Sh to do a little chasing and hunting if they feel like it. and they seem to like that, even more since spring in here. I have recently taken the female festae out of the tank because she was causing nothing but greif and since then they have become awesome fish again. I dont think it will matter to to much what you use for filtration as long as you have NO open holes for the escape artists.
  22. Sounds good. Not to sure about the Leptosoma, but the Julies should be fairly easy to come by. You do realize that you have to post some pictures now Thanks! Yes I do have something in mind. I am looking for 12 Cyprichromis leptosoma (preferably young adults), and 6 Julidochromis marlieri (hoping to end up with two pairs). I am also considering some shell dwellers for the center section of the tank that have no rocks, but have no particular species in mind. The tank is setup with a rubble of rocks on each end going half way up to the surface. The Cyprichromis will have the full 4ft to cruise.
