  1. Yeah...saw them at petland. Dragon scale with dumbo years...53.00 dollars! I think...I know it was more than 50 dollars...lol.
  2. Do they breed true to colour or do they breed like electric blue jack dempsey? interesting and keep us posted!
  3. I would be more concern about aggresiveness towards each other. I would get a pair or a trio with 2 females.
  4. give them time to adjust.also make sure food are thoroughly thawed before feeding. Once they calm down and realize they are safe, they will come out when they see you as they know its feeding time.
  5. clean water and nls. That is what it took to get them to grow. LOTS of patience. Watch for aggression and all 3 are getting food. I started with 3 and ended with one and became my breeding male.
  6. not nicaraguan. first glance reminded me of black belt or vieja type but the second picture reminds me of a red devil. Can you get more lateral view pics.
  7. i believe syno231 bred them before. Dwarf snakehead c. bleheri
  8. I managed to breed them and sold about a dozen ebjd and gaveaway most of by bgjd. My pair was sold to Bandi and last i heard she was successful in continuing to breed them. I did not find them more sensitive that other JD's just harder to breed. Jonah
  9. If it was me, i would continue with the pellets and eventually the geos will start competing for the food as well. They are probably not competing for food as they know the "good stuff" is coming.
  10. i've starved my puffers for 10 days before they start accepting. they will not accept if they get food q3days.
  11. LOL...their looks suck you in and personality makes you want more! Dwarfs are nippy but not much damage...but they can be relentless and cause stress. watch for fishies in the corners. Js
  12. what kind of puffer? SA puffer. just keep in mind they can turn at any time. i had puffer that lived with fish for over a year and one day...half a fish left. dont put your prized fish with puffers.
  13. btw...i would do a specied only tank when it comes to puffers as they are unpredictable and sa puffers do not form tight school in my experience.
  14. South American puffers are fairly docile when it comes to puffers. i had sa puffers and fed mainly with snails and even with that, i still did once or twice a year beak trimming. Make sure you research that and be comfortable with it. Not hard...just need steady hands and nerve of steel...lol.
  15. LOL. I ended up ordering dario dario after all. I think i have more females than males though. I guess males are easier to find anyways. Jonah
  16. i had dario dario before and they are fun li'l fish. they are skittish at times though and like to hide.
  17. wow...lots of interesting ideas. have to do some research! THANKS FOLKS!
  18. How many pygmie cory cats would be reasonable? 12 sounds like too many?
  19. i like the cory cat idea. maybe some cories and white clouds.
  20. keep the suggestions coming! thanks to those who shared1
  21. jason got me all excited about seahorses...lol. What are OEBT? this will be a work tank, low tech. maybe with easy to grow plants. Jonah
