    Hello

Great to hear you have 8 tanks already! After only being in the hobby for 4-5 months. Welcome to AA!
  5. I used to have 2 of them. I never did need to have a license for them as far as I new... But they do get really big I had mine until they were about 16inch and then I had to gt rid of them as they need to go into a very large tank. I would recommend that if you plan on getting some or already have some you should be sure that you are going to be able to get a big tank to hold them in. As they are very hard to get rid of if you end up needing to get rid of them.
  6. Man you sure know how to get your hands on some nice plecos!! I love the L14 sunshine!! How many plecos do you have anyway? Great pics!
  7. WOW these videos are very great! Thank you for letting us know about them. I definitely recommend anyone interested in cichlids to take the time to watch them!
  8. Thanks. No the dragon fly is not on my finger, we have a pink garden hose lol. Ha now that you mention that it was on a garden hose it looks more different then a finger LOL What was I thinking!
  9. Very Nice pics!! I like the bug is it on you finger?
  10. Well it's not personally mine but I look after the 1200 gallon Cichlid Aquarium at the Calgary Zoo.
  11. I think would say the best thing to do is to remove the fry also. The adults may still be a bit territorial for a day or 2 but then they will settle down. The trick is getting all the fry out because if you leave even 5 in there they will protect them! What I used to do is use the end of a siphon to suck all the fry into a 5 gallon pail. Good luck!
  12. I have used the methlylene blue before on angel eggs and it worked great. After they hatched is when the hard part of keeping the alive came into place!! Just be sure that while transferring the eggs into the other tank that you keep the fully submerged under water or they will all die! Just put whatever they layed the eggs on into a ice cream pail or something.
  13. I love those pics!! My favorite one has to be the L-14 sunshine all the way that is a awesome pleco! Thanks for sharing the pics.
  14. Sometimes francos on 32nd has plants but not as good as a selection.
  15. Those are really nice Love the ray. Do you not have them anymore? Just noticed that you say you really miss them.
  16. I have just recently re sealed a aquarium about 1 week ago. When I was striping all the old stuff out I also putt a few small slips in the glass connection but it just being such a small slit I was not to worried about it ' so I don't really see it being a problem. Be sure to strip all the old stuff out with a sharp blade I used a Red Devil single edged razor blade. Then do a good vacuum to get all the left overs out its the easiest way. Then i put a small bead of silicone starting from each bottom corner and all the way along the seams then go back over it with your finger from the bottom corner back over the bead that you continued. I filled mine about 2 days later and left it sit for about 1 hour and no leaks. And boy did it leak bad before I did this. Good Luck on the project! Oh ya and the stick on thermometers come of pretty easy using the same kind of blade.
  17. It's hard to say how old your turtle is if I see a pic it might help me out. The way I was told is the females are usually twice the size as males but males have a longer pointy tail. Check your turtle if it has a long pointy tail then it is a male if not then it is a female. In my picture the female is the one that is right up front. The male is in the back and if you look you can even see his tail. Well after looking at mine it seems like it could be a male. And im sure mine is older then yours would be his shell is a bit scuffed up seems like he has been through allot I'm not to sure what his past was like as I adopted him about 3 years ago from the Calgary Humane Society. Sometimes I would like to get another one to go with him but I ma not to sure what he would be like with another. Also I can never seem to find them as they are illegal to sell in Alberta I was told.
  18. Mine is in a 75 gallon. I just recently moved and I used to have him in a 100 gallon pond in my basement. I'm pretty sure hes fine they don't do to much I think he is board being alone. I'm not to sure if he is a male or female or how old he is. do you know how to tell?
  19. Thats cool! How big of a tank do you keep them in I am always worried that I don't keep mine in a large enough tank.
  20. Man those scales look hard to cut through!!! They look like they are mad of steel!!!LOL

  23. Just Fresh water for me! Would love to get into salt one day soon. Right now going to head in the fresh water ray direction!!!!
  24. I have been thinking allot about building a large pond to start housing some rays. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on how deep freshwater motoro rays need? The plans are about 9' by 4' just not to sure how deep to go. Any info would be great thanks.
