I have 3 FX5,s running they are great need about 3 or 4 more. Also have a XP4, it is also great. Also have a 404 and and 403 Fluvals and not a bit of trouble, so they is great also. Also have 8 AC,s of different sizes and they are also great. Most filters these days are all good.

Here is a crappy picture of a female. And this is the male. So this male and female would be OB Labeotropheus Fulleborni And this female(in another tank) would be Labeotropheus Trevawasae.

Okay I need some help here . I bought these guys as OB Labeotropheus. There are 2 males and 3 females. When I do a google on that name it comes up and shows me Trewavasae and Fulleborni, which are the Blue males and orange females which I have in another tank. So where does the Ob kind fit in. ?? Any info will be a great help. As I have fry from this group and would like to know for sure what I have. Thanks

Been watching mine real close and I agree that the females have the dark splotches on there sides. I have one that looks like she is holding and she has the dark sploches on her sides. As this is my frist time with Dolphins, I still am learning here. When you have a female holding , do you remove her from the tank or strip her of her fry. Or just leave her in the tank with the rest.?? What works for you ? What do you do.?? Frank

I use my FX5,s. they come with a extra fitting. Just added hose to it and run it out the window.. Disconnect the outlet hose on the filter and put on the spare with the hose and pump all the water out the window. When I am done with the big tanks I just stick the valve into the smaller tanks and open it.Sucks almost as fast as the filter. A bit slower but it works, not running my well pump and wasting water . Have checked out all kinds of pumps and they seem to be alot of money, so I make do with what I have for now.

Jerry . I use the 4 to 6 inch clay bottoms. I break the hole in the top one and kind of on the side or edgeof it. Makes for a jagged type hole but it works for me. I also file the edges down so they are not to sharpe.

Hi Jerry The thing I found that worked for me were two Clay pot bottoms. The clay plates that you put under your pots. Silicone together and than take a hammer and make a hole in it. The only thing that I have used that produce fry. Cheap and it works. Have over 200 fry growing out here now. Just what works with mine. When I want fry , I just do a big water change,(40%) and sit back and watch the cave. Works for me , but I,m sure there are some Ten Gal Experts on here that will shoot this down.

Thinking it is about 1 inch per gal.

I always leave mama with the baby,s till she wants nothing to do with them. Lost moma after this last batch , may have been to much for her . There were 77 of the little cutie,s. Well they have grown up and I have sold some of them and took a bunch to the sale , but just had to keep a few.Pa lives in the 180 gal is just awsum. Thinking of getting him a new mama. The baby,s I have left will be grown out here or at a freinds house. Just love going downstairs and sitting in front of there tank. They are there being your best freind whenever you go to them. Well this fish lives in a 240 gal tank which gets a 50% water change once a week. Before I set this tank up and when I frist notice this it was very red and ugly. Placed her in a 70 gal and treated her for a week . It was looking better so place her in the 240 with the rest of the group when I set it up. It has grown a bit , but is not red and inflamed like it was . If you think More water Changes are needed, more than 50% per week , please let me know. I love this tank and this group of fish and will do what ever for them. Is there not a Fish VET in Alberta...lol Please let me know what you think. FRANK ( RNFA)

Well I also had a great time. Met some nice people and put some faces to names. Had a good visit with Northranger and Fairdeal and Blue Ram.and a few other members. Came home with a very nice female Frontosa , who fit right into the group after tearing down the 240 and adding new driftwood and the new female. Also came home with a 80 gal and stand that I needed like a hole in the head, but the price was right. Parked in the shop beside the 140 that is waiting for me to do something with. ( HEY QUINN, WHY DON'T YOU THROW OUT THEM 10 AND 20 BABYS AND GIVE ME A CALL...LOL.. J/K ) Also came home with a glass top and a lite. All in use within 5 min,s of getting home. Also thank you to the members who sent fish to the auction for me to pick up and or trade for. They all made it home and are doing great. Take care all and hope to see some of you soon Frank

Congrats Frank! I love those guys. Are they fuelleborni or trewavasae? Yep...lol Still trying to figure that one out Patrick. Once I get the fry and some pics I will let You know. I,m thinking I have both. Just need to get Pic,s frist to show. Not only have the 5 ,I got from Allen . I have 3 others that do not show the OB Side. The male is all blue and the female ,s are orange . Will take a bit to figure out which are which

:thumbs: Okay , I see tonight that one of the females is holding. Just got this bunch maybe a month ago from Allen. Brought them home and put them in a 33 gal. There are 5 of them. From what I see there are 2 males and 3 females. This fish is just wild . They go about a 100 miles a hour around the tank at all times...lol Dig like crazy and are just wild. . So now I will have a bunch of fry. Hope they do not go as fast as mom and dad..lol Hey Allen Want them back now that you have moved..lol :boxed:

:thumbs: Thank you Patrick. I have never used the styrofoam and most likey never will . but egg crate will protect and that is why people used it. That is why I use it. Cheap and it works.
