  1. originally the deck level was going to be the top of the pond.. so there is a stinger along the home right there. and the deck was dropped down 3 feet. so the whole 'wood' unit is a structure its self. it jus happend to wrinkle exactly like there is siding behind it.
  2. a deck pond is an easy fun project. especially if u have 'extra' equipement laying around. and trust me, those fish are fed WAAAY to much, the nieces and nephews cant get enough of over feeding, but they always have huge smiles. and the GoPro with the scuba underwater housing is amazing for the price.
  3. Here is a quick video of my small backyard pond. http://youtu.be/jiZRbBj7F-8
  4. ya they do, they work great in a ray or arowana tank. and they have a goofy personalty.
  5. floating plants for sure. they do an amazing job of keeping water crystal clear, and unwanted algae to a min.
  6. Great guys, helpful and great products for an amazing price. highly recommend.
  7. well egg crate can also be called light diffusers... and they have them at most hardward stores.. but they usually dont know the 'egg crate' term. try light diffuses that the use in office buildings... or.. take some from your office building!
  8. well that is really too bad if it is melanoma.. that was one of my fav fishes.. and he is the only thread fin i have. and i will keep an eye on him for now.. he still eats lots and swims like there is nothing wrong. so lets hope that it gets better! thanks for the info werner. greatly appreciated.
  9. well... what is the best way to treat this, if it even can be treated?..? and will if get the rest of my fish sick? any help would be great. thanks colby
  10. Hello, i have a thread fin with some odd bump on its tail.. looks like it MIGHT be a burn from a heater... any one know if i am wrong or right?
  11. i think i might stick with some of the heaters i have.. and just use a PVC pipe with holes drilled into the PVC with the heater in side, with a power head attached at the bottom to maintain good circulation... that may work..
  12. i was defiantly planning on at least two heaters.. that is why the inline might be out for me..
  13. i will have to look into the rena heaters.. thanks for the input!
