  8. Target play sand from home depot is what I use. I think for a 50G, you will require maybe 5 bags..for a 2" layer (IMO)..I think each bag costs ~$6.00 5 BAGS? I've got one bag in my 150, and I have over an inch of sand in there. I also have 3/4 of a bag in my 60 gallon, and it has almost 3 inches of sand.
  9. Kok is just a dirty word for nuchal hump lol. Damn that thing is ugly too.
  10. Chris, I do have a couple males if you want one. Jay, I hopefully will make it down for sunday.
  11. Lol I figured you two would post. There were people keeping stuff we still can't get our hands on back when I was playing with Oscar's. Jay, I looked through your album and all I can say is WOW.
  12. So lately I've been seeing too many Africans! This is driving me nuts. We need to get the "old guys" back on the block here! Jay, didn't you used to have NWA? It's kinda died off, but we should get it going again lol. So anyways, what's everyone got in the mix when it comes to boisterous cichlids? I know Nick has a Saggitae I havent seen in a while Chris, you have that massive Hait, and a couple other bruisers. I'm the new kid on the block here now, slowly planting my feet on the darkside. It's pretty fricken' awesome too I must say. N.W.A.
  13. I'm gonna be bidding on a few of these I think You'll make it up, you know you will :P
  14. PM Blackmumba, she has some of the nicest stock around
  15. When I had a cyanobacteria outbreak, I did just as Jay stated. I blacked out my tank and didn't feed for nearly a week. I also added quite a few airstones to oxygenate the water.
  16. I'm not gonna get in on this topic, but I don't agree with feeders. Too high in parasites/disease. BUT if you decide you still wanna use feeders, grow up your own. I use fry as a treat every once in a while for my big boys.
  17. I agree with hybrid. I've had many of these, some well over a foot. a pair will annihilate each other in a small tank. you need to put in a divider or separate the pair.
  18. You could if he had somewhere to dock, and he has plenty of food. I've noticed turtles like to eat a lot of live food, so it might be a good idea to keep a bunch of small goldfish on hand. And Boourns, red eared sliders aren't illegal, just illegal to sell and buy.
  19. The one looks to have every color in it under the sun!
