  1. I am unsure why you have the color change in the cherries. Zebras are Caridina sp. and Cherry shrimp are Neocardina denticulata var. red. They are from 2 different genus and it is extremely unlikely they would interbreed. Here is a great website that shows which species are likely to crossbreed http://www.crustaforum.com/images/crossbreeding_big.jpg, hope it helps. Some of the english may seem unusual, I think it is because it was translated from German.

  9. Have you checked out any of the online stores? I found that J&L Aquatics has a lot of marine equipment at what seems to be a decent price. http://www.jlaquatics.com/ is their website. Good luck.
  10. I love catfish too - I have Synodontis multipunctatus, Synodontis petricola, Parotocinclus jumbo, Parotocinclus spilosoma, Otocinclus vittatus, Otocinclus sp., Megalechis thoracata, Farlowella vittata, Corydoras trilineatus, Scleromystax barbatus, bristlenose plecos. What other catfish do you have? The eupterus is gorgeous by the way.
  11. Loachfan - I mainly lurk but occasionally you will see me :boxed: Is yours different from your name here, or the same?
  12. I am a member of Planetcatfish and BCAquaria.
  13. Do you breed any of the dwarf shrimp. There are very few Canadian breeders of these as well and there is even more interest in them than in the crayfish/lobsters. I know that I am looking for decently priced tiger shrimp, bee shrimp, rainbow shrimp, and even the "new" Sulawesi shrimp, and have been for a while. Good luck and hope this helps.
  14. The congo barbs often look pale and not very good looking in the store, but I have a group of 2 males and 4 females and they have beautiful color. They are always active and fast. Good luck.

  17. The waterfall is actually achieved by using sand. Here is a link to a site that describes how to create one http://www.aquatic-eden.com/2007/10/creati...underwater.html

  22. Can you post a picture? If they are hillstream loaches they will need very high oxygenation and lots of water movement in the tank. Good luck.
