  1. if your other plans fall through for holiday reasons, or anything else, you can park your tank at my house and i can fishy-sit as well. sometimes a back up plan is good. i am more experienced with community fish than with cichlids, though, so the first fella offering a temporary home would probably be best........ cheers
  2. hey...you're the one with the barking oscar.....lol ps....the snails are rocking out my big tank now......thnx again
  3. here in leduc we have a lovely fully fenced 40 acre dog park, over by the rec centre. i have a pitty and a husky cross that NEED a good run daily to not be destructive and bored. i can't do the running with them, but the walk around the perimeter of the park takes 20 mins and the dogs literally run like crazy and play and chase for that whole time. it is necessary and wonderful for them and as well for me.
  4. i'll comment....lol....sure glad i don't need this stuff! so far so good in the worms dept. i hope your fish are all good and healthy soon! also, thanks for the research. there is so much info out there to grab ahold of......
  5. kewl.....like the 3rd pic! very nice.
  6. hello and welcome. congrats on the restoration of your cichlid tank! way to go! also....if you are sending off any of your fancy guppies to a new place, pm me. i am always interested in really cool looking males for my one tank. robin
  7. i like the 2nd.....and i'd be happy to take a couple off of your hands down the road.........of either type!!!
  8. my yo yo loaches and kubotai loach kill off the mts. my kuhli loaches are so peaceful and shy, they bug no one, not even the littlest of mts. the yo yo's are best at keeping my mts at bay. my cory's are much happier with the yo yo's out of the tank, they were just a little more aggressive than the other loaches, who mix fine with the cory's.
  9. One girl working there told me a fish/shark died in the tank and was unnoticed for a bit?!?! and fouled up the water so fast they couldn't save the rest of the fish.......anyone go for this?
  10. doesn't patrick at www.gillsnfins.com have some? he lives out by millet, not far from here......he had lovely stuff last time i was at his place picking up fish..........if i wrote his website wrong, he advertises here on the top of this forum page......
  11. oh, and could i put him in with my demasoni and labs until i rehome him, or would he just simply get picked apart??
  12. wow, just too much action in my tanks lately. i am appreciating the peacefull community fish more and more lately. i have a 2.5-3" (body, not fins) angelfish, orange, from natures' corner. beauty of a fish, but a jerk tonight to my dear golden wonder killi's. any tips on getting him to leave them alone.....or anyone want a single, lovely, jerky angel? i just feel like i am liquidating all my grumpy fish lately! robin

can't remember the readings. sorry. I will either rehome or get a bigger tank. thanks! I had a feeling this was the response i'd get, with all you cichlid keepers out there, i am very grateful for the responses!

They are from 1 inch to 2 inches each. They are not sexed.......so stressed, eh? I am considering a 55 gal, but if the stocking is not the issue, but the sexes, then what shall I do? Aren't these things really hard to sex? When it comes to sexing fish, mature congo tetra's are about my league!! lol
