I get a few things from Emco over the years. problem is you have to go during regular business hours.

i use a turkey baster i get from the dollars store. i also use fine mesh nets sometimes. getting fry out can be a pain, as long as you save 20-40 youll be fine. Trying to raise them all, and then finding homes for the all cane be a real pain.

peat moss doesn't soften water, it lowes ph. Lower ph, and lower TDS are different thing. Use ro is you want to soften water, but i would also agree with ghostface, try in regular tap water and then if you find you need to soften, then use RO. peat only makes water more acidic

they may fungus due to not being fertilized, which is cause by the egg shell crystalizing quicker than the sperm can penetrate. The crystalizing is caused by excesive mineral content in the water.

I used to buy mine from the local grocery stone for around $4 for 5gal. If you go to sobe's, they only have a $0.25 deposit on the bottles, and they are returnable to any bottle depot. I kept a few for when I bought my RO unit. Very handy.
