  1. Are you saying you'll have henlies for sale soon or are they a cross with another ray?
  2. Floating tubifex cubes, feed them after the pellets. The ropefish will go crazy for them.
  3. If you're educated in the hobby big als won't hire you.
  4. I have a wicked catfish you might be interested in send me a pm i'll give you a good deal.
  5. How the heck did you get your hands on a Flash cat and how much can I buy him for?
  6. JESTER - I have a 210 with a couple rays, a few silver dollars, an asian arowana, clown loaches, a decent sized cat, a few large bichirs, and a BGK. I also have 420 gallons of filtration on it which barely covers the bioload for a week. I'd say go for the rays, maybe not motoro but scott has some wicked pearl/motoros he sells which I spoil and haven't come close to outgrowing the tank anytime soon. If I was you I would buy 2 pearl/motoros from scott (skynoch) and go buy an asian aro from shine aquatics or something. As long as you keep up with water changes, say maybe 50% every 4 to 6 days and put double the amount or even more filtration you shouldn't have a problem. The rays and aro would be the main fish, I would still throw in more. Gotta remember the feeding too, atleast twice a day for stingrays. JLake - I would avoid the Jardini, they are horribly agressive. I have read countless stories or people thinking they have a super overly agressive Jardini and it turned out to be just an average tempered one. Go for a Green arowana if you don't want to spend much but want the Asian body style. Be warned though Greens are fairly agressive too. If you want an idea of a similar sized tank Jlake drop me a PM and you can come look at my tank, I live within walking distance from you.
  7. Are the first ones pearl/motoros?
  8. Not big enough lol only 4" to 5" the aro likes to mess em up a bit ever now and then. Thanks hybrid we should talk about fixing his drop eye The tank is 1" from the wall, I'm lucky the garbage bag worked haha. I put it on a couple days ago it looks wicked w/o the flash. I've had the stock together for a long time, bichirs make excellent tank mates for rays, they eat the same things though. I have to feed double the smelt and prawn, the lapredi and ornate gobble it up fast. The bichirs are 20"+ and the rays are 9"+ now. I have a buddy who comes over every few days and he can't keep his eyes off the rays, I guess keeping africans can do that to someone when they see a real fish lol. "Who is your daddy and what does he do?" Hahahahahahahaha thats a good one, I think I heard there's an election and he might be out of office soon because some rich prince guy is running against him, I wouldn't be surprised if he "disapeared" though right before a big speach or something.
  9. Ya I oouldn't really pass it up at that price. Still need to find a centerpiece. I think we'll need to do a group buy for the driftwood from spencer so we don't have to pay a ton for shipping. I've been looking for a show peice for my 210 for awhile now and spencer is the only place ive seen with the right size.
  10. Sometimes this works but often the wood comes with lice that kill your fish. I have tried it myself with no luck. I'm interested in finding out a good place for a big peice of drftwood for a 200g+ tank if anyone has leads on something like that.
  11. Nice Super Red and Pearl stingray. Is that a parent of my rays?
  12. Why would you put a ghostknife in a 10g?
  13. I think it's when you start talking about it to people who don't care or have any interest in fish keeping. If you have lots of tanks no one needs to know who they belong to lol.
  14. I don't think it matters if the tank isn't in a high traffic area, I would recomend it for pups though. Also if the rays start spawning and the female is getting beat up, sand would be wise so she can hide from the male.

    My 120g long

The clown loaches are ok in brackish water?
  16. I like the pearl motoro, every one of them seems to be different. Mine just hit the 9" mark, I assume you got it from Scott how big is it? If it's a male have his claspers started to form yet? I'm always looking for different things to feed mine, what have you been feeding?
  17. No experience with rays and you go for some of the coolest most expensive ones, I like your style. I'll be waiting for pics of the new armatus and BBXB you'll probably buy in the future haha. Nice lookin' rays though, very nice.
  18. CAN not WILL, like bigfishal said, keep your arowana well fed! Best advice anyone can give with smaller tank mates. I have a school of silver dollars in with my asian and he did try to get one when he wasn't eating prawn but now that he eats the prawn the silver dollars are safe from his wrathe.
  19. That is good news for all your fish but I must stress keep your eyes on that pleco! Your arowana will out grow that 250 though but not for a very long time, I suggest selling your old setup and buying an asian arowana they can live in the 250 for life.
  20. You have a pleco and an oscar with a motoro? I'm surprised the stingray is still alive especially with such a small tank. I know oscars sometimes can work but I would really suggest getting rid of that pleco.
  21. Good a well established tank is a must with sensative fish like stingrays. Don't worry though they aren't as hard to keep as most might think.
  22. Talk to the guy on here named Skynoch, he's the best source on the site to find a stingray. I have a pair of pearl/motoros from him and they are stunning. I had a male motoro and I got sick of it, it would hide all the time and eat half of what he should and he was just boring compared to the pearls. The colors of the pearls are alot nicer than the bland boring brown of a motoro. For arowanas I would try the site sponsor shine aquatics i haven't delt with them but they look as good as it gets for quality. Also I wouldn't recomend a SA arowana for a 180g go for an asian. I keep my 20" asian green in my 210 which is pretty close to the size of your 180 just a bit taller and wider. Asians stay shorter and have a very different personality then the SA arowanas. I had a silver aro that sawm back and forth all day everyday. My Green uses all levels of the tank and swims in random patterns. He even goes around screwing with my other fish for fun. He actually picks up my 20" bichirs and carries them around the tank. I saw your other thread asking about stocking questions, I would not recomend adding congo tetras to a tank with a knifefish or stingrays, food is all they will become. Knifefish would be a great ray friendly choice though, I keep a 10ish inch ghost knife with my rays.
  23. Welcome! What kinda rays and arowana are you planning on getting?
