  1. so at the auction last year i bought a 18x18x18 cube i was going to use for breading i decided to go with a sand bottom but didn’t want the hassle so i silicone the sand down looks super nice problem is every fish i put in there so far has only lasted about an hour i was prity sure i used the right 100% silicone but now i wonder as i have a sponge filter that i took from another tank and the water is right from my other tank with the rest of the fish same temp i even have drained it and filled it up a few times now just to see but same thing they swim like crazy and then die in about an hour anybody have any ideas or should i just scrap it and find another tank
  2. wouldn’t worry at all i do 30% of a 420 gallon 3 times a week i just siphon it all out and fill it up i mix hot and cold but about half way through i run out of hot water so i turn the cold off and just put Luke warm that’s left it usually drops about 3 degrees
  3. I had a gong show of a time but i got my 420 gallon 7 ft tank and i had to slide it down the stares and then at the bottom spin it still on the edge and lift over the rail wasnt fun and wish it was only 6 ft then i would have been able to stand it up but wasnt enought room but 5 guys did get it in with not a whole lot of heavy lifting

  9. I had 2 fx5 and an ehime running on my 150 gallon and the only thing i had in them was ceramic rings I was running with a bb tank and did 50% water changes but i could tell when i was slacking as the water didnt look as clean i ended up setting up a reactor with just floss in it to polish the water when i needed
  10. the 150 has a high bio load as i usualy do 50 % water changes every two days or so sometimes more im hoping with all the discus getting close to adult i can start feeding less and cut down
  11. Soim about to transfer from my 150 to my large tank about 480 gallons total rightnow i have 2 fx5 1 ehime and one sponge filter running on my 150 i have thesump all running on the new tank nothing in it yet just fresh water . Thefilters on the old tank are just filled to the brim with ceramic rings and suchnot sure what it would all work out to but i have an additional 100 # of ringsthat aren’t cycled at this time is my filtration going to be covered if i justmix all the old media with the new would say it would work out to about 1 oldto 5 new kind ratio i know it will take some time for the new to getestablished but in the mean time will i still be covered as it was enough inthe small tank just different ways of delivery
