  1. Poor fish, I would suggest the salt treatment. Maybe offer meat soaked in Garlic Guard or Entice. He could also be adjusting to his new environment. Hope he feels better. hb
  2. Hi, I wouldn't trust the R/O units at Safeway. I have a TDS meter and tested on a while back for my carnivorous plants. It reads TDS as high as tap water. I would just buy the distilled jugs (jugs with green cap) just to be sure. hb
  3. 600 gallons? Wow, I wanna see that. hb
  4. Welcome to the forum man! hb
  5. Yes it does. Honestly, I'm not hoping for a success this time. At least I now know that I have a paired discus. cheers, hb
  6. Thanks Barb. Raising Fry would be nice. I only use R/O water o n my display tank. I add Discus trace to replace lost minerals. I think it's too late to move them. I will once this is over. hb
  7. Hello, So I have a 55 gallon Bowfront display tank. Got small tetras, some amano and cherries and 5 Discus. I acquired the Discus from different LFS about 2 months ago. I've noticed that my Blue Diamond and Blue snakeskin are being close to each other most of the time. I found his morning that they spawned and attached the eggs on one of m plant's leaf. They are now guarding the eggs. Do I need to remove the pair with eggs or just let them be? Cheers, hb
  8. Please pm me when you have some pairs available from your hatchlings. Thanks so much! I love this guys... Cheers! hb

  13. Hello, I use R/O water for my tanks, orchids and carnivorous plants. The unit softens the water and remove fione particulate matter. TDS (Total Dissolve Solids) should be less than 10 percent. The only thing is that PH level is always around 7 %. Installation is straight forward, one end connects to the water source and the other is the output. You should have a storage tank and a faucet or you can use a large storage tank with a float valve method. Hope this helps. hb
  14. Hello DanGofCalgary, As of now, I am keeping Tetras in a 55 gallon tank. I am planning to get some discus and some Crystal Shrimps. I have a 15 gallon planted tank and plan on housing the shrimps. Never been to a workshop or auction but i would love to come. I live in the NE Calgary. cheers! hb
