Pisces for me is the most inflated pet store in Calgary. Sure they do have a great selection of products. Unless I'm trying buy items not offered in Petland or Petsmart, I'll go to other store. I bought anubias barteri var. coffeefolia from petland two for $10 and the same plant size in netted pot, Pisces is selling for $25. However, in term of quality and selection of fishes, I trust Pisces. Regarding staffs, Pisces have a lot of teenagers working in the aquarium department that know nothing about fishes, especially in busy weekend.

Excel will melt java fern too .... not to the point of total melting like val, but the leaf tip show sign of it ... I once overdose the excel and kill all my Odessa barbs ....

New member here ...hello to all ... love aquarium since a kid and God knows how many goldfish I killed ....lol Have 55G tank stocked with 7 Bosemani rainbow, 3 Parkinsonii and a pair of mean German rams ... and sine you can never have too many tanks, have another 30G tank with 18 Black Ruby Barbs and 10G for future shrimp tank (hopefully in the near future). Why ADA substrate are so expansive..... anyone know any cheap source? Lanny

You can plants in pot. I put amazon sword n cyrp in clay pot w substrate fill only 2/3. What ever they dig, the substrate just falls back into the pot. I have a pair of Kribs and Rams n after a while they gives up ...

New member here. Currently a big fan of rainbowfish and barbs and would love hear from local peoples and their experiences with these. =)
