  1. Hi and welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about your platy also that your from Grande Prairie lol Sorry, I lived up there for four years and man I'm glad to be back in the south.
  2. Size and numbers permitted depend on the body of water, most water bodies have no size limit on perch (I cannot think of any that do in the ES1 ot PP2 zones), although it is not too common to catch anything under 5" unless you are fishing specifically for them (like using a marmish through the ice). At Cow lake by Rocky Mountain House you can see that they are a schooling fish and you'd be lucky to find any in that lake above 6 inches. Trust me I've tried. I wish I could find them around a foot, Where are you fishing? Or do you want your fishing hole being invaded?
  3. yeah, I mean i grew up in the west country and one of the best trout fishing lakes was ruined a few years back with the addition of perch so I'm in favor of the regulations if it protects our fishing holes from being ruined.
  4. I've had a set of silk plants since i set up my tank nine months ago and they seem to be fine, the pleco regularly sucks on them as well as the silk plants that have been in there for the last six months and no problems yet. I like the look of them.
  5. Dude that just royally sucks man  Hope the next batch are great for you.
  6. In case i get ich again, i've heard and read a lot that you should add aquarium salt but how much do you add? :eh:

  8. I'd be interested in it. Do you know if we need to supply our own vehicle?
  9. Not really, he hangs out on the underside of my driftwood. its like an arch.
  10. Okay, I have a Bristlenose Pleco that has been in my tank alone for almost a month. tonight i put in a bunch of Cherry barbs and my pleco started to chase my new barbs around the tank. Is this normal? I mean are BN's normally territorial? It's sorta funny especially since the barbs are curious and go swimming up to him.

    Hello!

    :welcome: fellow Calgarian!
  19. Well I think i'm pretty well off the hook, there is still only the one snail that continues to grow. No signs of anyothers so I'm not to concerned right now. How long can snail eggs last on something?
  20. okay, i've got a jug ready but what do you mean for it to be 2" on the outside. I'm lost
  21. Yeah i agree, by showing up i meant seeing the first signs of the spots on the fish.
  22. I was keeping up on regular maintenance on my tank with water change's and checking levels and everything was fine but my fish were still scraping themselves a little before the ich showed up. It showed up, about a week and a half after really noticing the fish scrape themselves. I'd keep an eye on it.
  23. I noticed my fish scraping themselves right before my really big ich outbreak. The temperature increase might be a good idea just in case. I lost a lot of fish to it.
