That's a risk I took buying as sometimes you can't copy optimum conditions. I don't blame the seller. That said... the mods and admin might have the right or obligation to force someone to follow the site rules... But, NO ONE has the right to decide what the asking price of an individual item should be. That's the choice of the seller. The choice of the buyer or potential buyer is to either not buy ...ie. close the thread , buy or if really interested and feel the price is too high to pm with a lower offer.

Although they are all good, the one I'm suggesting most is the first one. I've noticed a lot of posts where the asking price of a product was questioned in a post ( some in not a very polite manner). If someone thinks his xbox or nintendo wii is worth twice what he paid for it... great... if you don't agree... don't buy it. If someone thinks his breeding pair of fish is worth more what you do... don't buy it. We have Mods here to gently remind people if they are way out in left field concerning something. I've seen lots of things posted on here that I thought were totally overpriced. By the speed with which some of them sold, I was obviously proved wrong. On a different although similar note... In response to your Buy and sell Reminder... Nick, I realize it must be a pain to have to read through all of the posts to see if they should be archived or not. Why not just make it a rule that you have to put SOLD in the title of the thread and then repost it. That way you would only have to read the ones that you really want to. Fred

Thanks for the verification. I'm assuming since mine are bigger than yours were and they all look the same (to me anyway), that I have males. That's okay though, they are still great looking fish, and maybe they will stay as a peaceful group this way. Fred

Scary story. Anyone with small kids... should consider screwing dressers to walls (fishtanks on them or not) as kid's have been known to try climbing up and have ended up pulling the dresser over on top of themselves.

Babies are doing great.. thanks for asking.. They are swimming around all over the tank now. It looks like there's less... but hard to say for sure as they are spread out a lot more. I'll try to get some more pics when they are a little bigger and show up better. Fred

Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad that they are enjoying them. If you think that the male polit would get along with the group and that they might want to add him to the tank, just let me know and they can have him. Not really sure what they SHOULD have, but right now the pair are in a 45 gal. and they seem happy enough. I'm thinking of moving them into a 120 gal. but , haven't really decided for sure yet. Bigger decision right now is where to put the fry to grow out if the majority of them manage to live. Fred

I'm no expert, but when I had 3 full grown oscars years ago, I had plecos in with them. That's the only fish that I tried putting in the tank other than the odd feeder. I'm thinking that as long as the fish is big enough to not be considered food and not aggressive then it should be okay, but, I guess that would depend on how aggressive his oscar is. The pet store at the time told me that I could put small plecos in there and the fish wouldn't eat them because of the spines, but someone forgot to tell my oscars.

Convicts are pretty cheap. I don't think it will work out long term, but if it doesn't , just consider them a little more expensive feeder. I have about twenty of them in with 3 oscars right now, and they are getting along, but the oscars are only around 3-4 inches and the convicts are about half that. I expect the convicts will be food eventually.
