bosshog
I have a bunch of 10 ear old acrylic that needs to do something. While in town today I looked for acrylic glue to no avail. I need to Know a brand name or a chemical composition as to what is a suitable adhesive for making tanks out of this stuff. Thanks Brad Edited January 21, 2007 by bosshog

Canadiancray
You need what is called Acrylic Solvent. Its a clear substance that is as thin as water. It actually melts the two pieces together. You will also need a needle point applicator. Edited January 21, 2007 by Canadiancray

bosshog
Thanks for the tips and information guys. I will probably have to wait for a while until I go anywhere I can get acrylic glue. My tanks are going to be small 5 gal or so as the acrylic is only 1/4". I will have to do some more reading while I wait for glue. Thanks Brad

arixonbarnes
I use weld-on 3 and weld-on 4 for joining all my plastics. The manufacturer is http://www.franktross.com/weld_glass.asp.
Qattarra
I recall someone telling me that that thin acrylic warps with the warm water from a heated tank. Was it you spcy who was explaining deviders to me? Sue
spcy
Thin stuff warps after a while, And the fish ram rite through it. Mostly big monster fish 5" or bigger. If they really don't like the tankmates that are in with them.
Catmandu
I've used Weld-On as well,I get it from Johnston Plastics in Edmonton. I think they have it in really thin [Weld-On2]to really thick[Weld-On6] which fills very well
