fatpuffer
I am wondering if any plants are safe from sevs. I have some stem plants and cabomba that they enjoyed. I dont think they touched any java ferns thus far. ANy other experience is greatly appreciated. Js

jvision
I've found that if adults are bored, they'll chew up anything - in my tank, nothing lasted: Val, Java Fern, Anubias... they loved punching holes in my swords the most. Crypts seemed to do the best, but I think it's just b/c there was so many other choices - the larger wendtii leaves got a beating, tho. fatpuffer
Do you think that a trio of heros notatus will be okay with a EBJD and a pair of HRPs in a 125 gallon tank? Too much? What would be the best way to aquascape? Big driftwood in the middle with java ferns attached? Any ideas? Js
darkangel
Don't know about anyone else, But plastic is'nt even safe with mine.
RD.
Jonah - are you certain that you have H. notatus? Most severums found in these parts are Heros efasciatus. They should be just fine with your other fish listed, in a 125, but if they pair off the 'outsider' will have to be removed.
fatpuffer
These are the ones bought from Frank in Rocky. Here are some photos. Js
Frank
They are looking good Jonah. Yes they are H. Notatus. Had a lot of people check the father out on different sites and They all came back saying he is a H Notatus. Here is a link to a picture of dad. http://www.cichlids.com/pictures/pic/Thank...e_now_know.html Frank
RD.
Very nice looking male that you have there, Frank. Jonah - do you no longer have a female JD for your EBJD?
fatpuffer
I do have them. BUT I think the "female" may actually be a male. There is not fighting or anything but I am suspecting it is another male. I will have to look for another female...unless by EBJD is a female hence the no fighting. Just give up your EBJD and I can take it from you...lol. They can live nicely in a 125ish tank. Jonah
RD.
Mine acts like a male, but to be honest for all I know mine may be a female as well? No worries, mine will be going in my new 125, along with some SA's that I recently acquired. :smokey:
fatpuffer
What SA's? I have some F1 Green Severums from one of the sponsors if you want some. I just want to keep three...they are still small just bigger than a toonie for the biggest ones. Js
RD.
A juvie male green severum, and a juvie male chocolate cichlid. (Hypselecara temporalis) I also have a juvie gold nugget pleco that will be going into that tank.
