Golfnut
I have an old flourescent light, it starts up, but then flickers all the time. I tried another bulb, but it does the same thing. You can see the starter light up and then flicker and the bulb flickers too. Can anyone tell if it is the ballast or the starter? If it is the ballast then the thing should be tossed, but anyone know if changing the starter would fix it? Thanks, Andrew
jvision
If it starts, then I don't think it's the starter it sounds like the ballast to me.
Sam Chicklets
If the starter kicks it in then it would be the ballast
koso
Pretty sure it will just be the ballast, just be sure you check costs somtimes the whole fixture is cheaper then just the parts.
Doc_Polit
I hate to say it, but it's definitely the ballast. FYI....Princess Auto has 4' fluorescent fixtures on for $14.99 in today's flyer.
