HOSStile
When I bought this 50 gal from Tim (Rudy) he included the 2x6 stand. Knowing that it was certainly strong enough I set about to skin it with pieces of plywood that our new photocopiers come shipped with. HOSStile
It certainly isn't perfect and black shows every dent in the plywood but I just finished setting it up
HOSStile
Any way thanks Tim for giving me a solid frame to start with. Now I am fishless cycling the tank because I have a lot of fish that need a new home. -ham-

Nandopsis
What kind of paint did you use? I use a black varathane. It gives it a flat to semi glosslook and hides alot of scratched and imperfections.

Oxquo
Looks good. On the paint though, mixing clearcoat and enamel makes a thick paint, going one side at a time to create a slow drying pool with lots of airflow going across it hides the flaws alot or even just putting 4-5 coats of clear over flat black. J-Roc is bang on though for a 1-2 coater, use flat and never look back. Either way that's a nice finishing touch, great job!!!
HOSStile
As you can see I did use gloss, The next one I will try to raise the dents and go with a different finish. The one thing I have is lots of these pieces of plywood.Harold
