Why Do My Fish Not Listen To Me?

So I have a betta pair in the spawn tank, no nest. So I've swapped out the male and hopefully this male gets it. Wild bettas in spawn tank, nothing. BN pairs together for a year, bred once, now nothing. Blue angel pair, you guessed it, nothing. Old pair of angelfish who are a mix of koi and standard who've bred many times, if you guessed nothing, you're wrong. Yes, the fish I don't want to breed, did and I've pulled the eggs. So now, I put together some calico BNs and will keep an eye on my mouthbrooding bettas but knowing my luck, nothing... In the meantime, I keep fishing out molly fry...AARGh.....

I find that white worms really do the trick for my betta. I can spawn them like crazy, just need to work on the fry survival rate. Maybe show them some fintastic porn ... bow fishy wow wow :w00t:

  • 2 weeks later...

I got in a shipment this week and one of the limias dropped her fry in the bag and then I spot a least killifish fry. But my calico bn jumped and my bettas opt for celibacy..

Update; I have a spawn of betta mahachai out of my 6 spawn tanks so I'm swapping out pairs. Had got in some nasty unidentifed bettas who were beating up the betta albimarginatas. Decide to move them in with the nasty unidentified livebearers(good match, don't you think!!). And yes, they have a bubble nest(in an unheated tank)??? Think I'll go back to collecting coins......
