Painting Egg Crate, Safe Paints?

I am picking up some egg crate ($12.50 for white vs $36.18 for silver for a sheet. I wasn't able to find black locally) to make a lid and can only find it in white or silver locally and I want to paint it black so it blends in nicer. Is there a safe paint I can use that will adhere to the plastic and stand up to the moisture?

Thanks!

I've used Krylon Fusion on PVC that is in my tank w/o any issues with livestock.

Sorry about not responding. I picked mine up at Home Depot, but I think you can find it at most hardware stores

It's worth checking online to see if the big box store of your choice carries that line of paint. Not all of them do, I had to do some running around to find a can last time I was looking.
