firestorm
Ok so I have an older Red sea 5lb paintball CO2 system that needs to be hydrotested before I can fill it. Is it worth getting it tested or should I look into buying a new system? And it's been a while since I have used it so I cannot remember approx how long that size will last me, I will be using it on a 55 gallon fully planted aquarium with high lights. Thanks! ckmullin
5lb paintball? that'd be a large canister for that. does the cylinder have a standard cga320 fitting or no? depending you might need something like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51zPROkcktL._SX425_.jpg
jvision
If it is a 5lb tank, that should last you around 6-8 months on your 55gal... if it's a paintball tank, you're probably looking at a couple months. A 5lb, I would get hydro-tested... a paintball canister I'd upgrade.
firestorm
I thought it was a 5lb,might not be lol. It's a paintball that's all I know and is solanoid and has a drop checker and a diffuser

firestorm
I was wrong it is a 20oz bottle! I was looking at some really nice systems last night with a 10lb tank, but have to save up the $350 for one!
SimplyFishKeeping
The 20oz arnt overly expensive to retest. They won't last a super long time though on a 55g if you plan go to high light. Invest in the 10lb tank as it'll last you months. Look into getting a decent regulator. It'll help you avoid end of tank dumps.
creekbottom
If it's a 20oz bottle why don't you go to a paintball place and turn it in? Someplaces will give you a discount on the new bottle you buy to replace it.
firestorm
I never thought of doing that, but that's a possibility I'll look into! I was thinking of upgrading to a better system later in the year
scottsheehan27
Any chance any of the experienced people with co2 could send a link to a few systems as i cant tell what regulator and diffuser are best, the tank seems idiot proof.
