Piranha Man
The picture is owned by Raul Yalan at Neotropical Fauna in Peru. He's the crazy man holding it. The fish is extremely fatigued as it was just caught. You can see the bleeding around the eye and mouth from the hook. Raul say's... " They fight like Lions". After they're brought in it takes about two weeks before they will even eat. This specimin was purchased by a fella in the U.K. for his aquarium. I wish. This particular specimin was between 46-48cm. The biggest one they've seen was 55cm. What becomes more prominent with Piranha as they reach there adult sizes is the height. As you can see. Click on the thumbnail... this pic size doesn't do it justice. Edited January 10, 2006 by Piranha Man

Vallisneria
Looks like it wouldnt' think twice about biting off your hand if you got too close  Do they usually catch these guys for hooks if they are going to the aquarium trade? Or did he just go fishing for fun and then sold it?

dunl
Actually, some of the saltwater keepers use a barbless hook to catch some of their "harder to catch" fish in their tanks, instead of ripping massive amounts of liverock and corals apart to catch them.
