vic
Well I was out trying to get a pair of 36" florescent single tube fixtures to augment the lighting in my new tank. Interesting discovery. I would appear that the major manufacturers such as Sylvania , Phillips, etc have or will shorly discontinue the supply of 36" gro/aquarium florescent lamps in the T12 format. I would suggest that one should not be buying the 36" T12 if you are wanting gro lamps! :grr:
Vallisneria
I've heard the Gorw/aquarium bulbs are very pink and aren't the right spectrum for plants(even thought they are "plant" bulbs). I just use the daylight bulbs in my 36" fixtures on my planted tank.
jvision
Those aquarium bulbs are OK for bringing out the fish's colors - though, I prefer something closer to the other end of the visible spectrum (blue instead of red). Like Val, I prefer the Daylights b/c they're a lot more white. Tho, I've been told that to plants, light is light - doesn't matter what color temp it is. Golfnut
I wouldn't worry so much about gro lamps. Just stick to sunshine 5000k and daylight deluxe 6500k and you'll be fine. Regards, Andrew
RD.
Do the T8 Phillips Daylight Deluxe 6500k come in 36"?
thefishdude
I can't seem to find anything other than 48"ers that are rated 6500K
