Green Seahorse Posted July 14, 2006 Report Share Posted July 14, 2006 :smokey: Hello everyone, Fist I just want to say what a wonderful site! :thumbs: We were not sure what to exspect, but we had fun looking at all the posts. Nice to see so many getting along so well. Had a few laughs, glad to see humor in others mistakes and daily "fishy" moments. Heaven knows we have had our share. We joined to learn more , to find people with similar interests, and to see whats new. We live east of Edmonton on a farm. My kids just love there fish! They fight over who gets to feed them. Cleaning and maintenance is a team effort. The amount of enjoyment they get from the fish is wonderful, they watch fish and know each one by name. We have a 400 gallon outside goldfish tank with 15 fancy golfish and a few large comets, We are putting in a 1000 gallon pond, and will be getting some new fish for it. Indoors we have a fourty five gallon tank with more goldfish and black moores, a ten gallon with tetras and balloon mollies a ten gallon with some cichlids moving shortly into a fourty five a twenty gallon with more cichlids a twenty eight gallon running with two cichlids waiting for more fish a ninety gallon with nothing in it yet. and too many betas! (kids decided to "save" them from little cups at Wal Mart) We really want to buy two large tanks for the main area of the house, want to do salt water, but don't know enough to take the plunge. Will read more and check out info on this site, any help would be great! But we will wait until we are more confident. We have has fish for years, but still just learning. Thank-you for all the warm welcomes. My kids are 15, 13, 9, 8, 7, 2 and usually another 13 year old who basically lives here. We usually have 10 or more kids here at the house................................... and they all have fish that they named and call there own. (even the ones that don't live here) We have every stray :cry: animal in the neighbourhood , and we have a lot of different critters that are family because nobody wanted them. -ham- After all, just one big happy family .....
