  1. That could be an issue, it would be stressed being alone. Is it white bumps or is it maybe patchy faded colouring?
  2. I can see it just fine when I log on with my iPhone. But I would like to try the app.
  3. Is anyone else unable to get the app? Every time I try all I get is a window saying "your request could not be completed".
  4. That is just unreal! I'm racking my brain but I don't know anyone in Athabasca.
  5. I don't think that would be a problem... the outer hotel piece is taller then the actual betta bowl. This causes a gap of what looks like an inch or so between the two when they are stacked.
  6. I just usually use clips with suction cups and either stick them to the side or let them sink. I might try the fork idea though... and hubby has lots of fishing line.
  7. How are your babies doing now? Are you willing to share?
  8. I just got a good measurement, from the tip of her nose to the bottom of her tail she is 3 1/4"
  9. Ok, thanks, I was pretty sure she was a she. She's probably about 3", I know I caught her on the glass the other day and measured but I can't remember what the number was. I've got 2 females then (different tanks)... I have to admit, I had hoped at least one of them would be a male.
  10. I have an albino BN that I believe is a female, she has little to no bristles. However, she does have a red patch on the top of her head. Everything I've read tells me males get that when they are sexually mature... but she's a she? Anyone know if females get that too? I've never had albino's before.
  11. Just wanted to add a note to this. After another water change and upping the salt to 1 1/2 tsp (2.5 gallon tank) the bubble is gone. Don't know if it was an infection or if it simply deflated.
  12. Hhmm... ok <shrug> he looks and acts just fine otherwise. Thanks guys.
  13. Could it be? I've never seen anything like it.
  14. Last night I noticed what looks like a bubble in my male beta's fin. There's no other signs anything is wrong but the bubble is visable from both sides. It literally looks like someone injected some air between the skin of his fin, could this be an infection? I added 1tsp of salt to his tank and I'll do a water change and add more tonight. Beta is in a 2 1/2 gallon, cycled and heated tank... he's still eating, flairing and patrolling his space like usual.
  15. If you ever make it up to Edmonton I have dozens of Endlers.
  16. I have endlers with cherry shrimp and crystal red and black shrimp, all are thriving. My tank is very well planted, almost a jungle actually. I'm sure the endlers eat ssome shrimp but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in my populations, the crystals don't reproduce quite as fast but I think that is probably just the shrimp.
  17. If you're going to add oto's and/or snails be sure to feed algae wafers a few times a week so that they don't run out of food. They are great little algae eaters but can be fragile, be sure to climatize them slowly to your tank.
  18. I agree! Pictures! This sounds really neat.
  19. I have some black crystal shrimp I would be willing to see. Let me know if you don't already have a deal in place.
  20. True, she mentioned he was a bit bloated. It was the only piece of advice I could think of to offer on top of everything else!
  21. Regarding his stomach problems and not eating... have you tried feeding him peas? Cook a frozen pea and cut it up into really small pieces, offer these to him one piece at a time. He may not realize it's food at first so keep trying if he doesn't eat them at first. Fish out the peas that hit the bottom of the tank, they foul up the water fast. This will help greatly if he's constipated.
