  1. It actually has one already. Then, the pipe tapers up to 3" (I believe) with holes to skim the surface. I am guessing that's where the bulk of the noise is coming from? I cannot remember what Danny Zubot was running for a pump. Is a Mag 12 too large maybe?
  2. Hmm. This one could be kinda hard. The back of the tank is drilled, not the bottom. Then, the overflow is made out of PVC. Where is the noise coming from Darcy? When the water enters the overflow, or into the sump? It is a Mag 12
  3. :welcome: Welcome Popeye!
  4. If there's ANYONE from Edmonton going to the auction, I could maybe send some back with them. (this would save you the bucks) I have a few cans of the stuff-both products, but I don't use it very often-too labor intensive for most that I do.
  5. Well, foam brushes are a great way to apply, and you would need mineral spirits for cleanup-or just toss the brushes when complete. Brand-there are several. "Varathane" is a brand in itself. They do make a water-based version of this, so it dries quicker and doesn't smell either. Surprisingly, it's really durable when cured. As far as coats, probably 3, but you could maybe cut that to 2 if you are painting it as well. Home Depot will have this in either quart of gallon size.
  6. As a brush on application-use either varathane, or even better-urathane. It will take a couple coats for sure, and sand lightly in between applications. You can try to paint black over this-it may have a tendancy to scratch off after though. Better "rough up" the clear finish (but not right through) and this will help hopefully. I spray sealer laquer on all MDF (lots of coats) and then colored laquer over this. Not really that easy a thing to do for lots of folk though-takes alot of equipment. Good luck!
  7. Here's a stupid question-my P.Ms say there's a maximum storeable 50 messages, yetl all the time it reads as ALMOST full @ 22. What's up with that, or am I just missing the obvious? (possible!!)
  8. Why should you have to pay? I have a digital here-if you can figure out how the h@## to post em,(I have been left in the dark on this ) you are more than welcome to use it! Maybe I should go back to school!
  9. I've seen Lisa's silk plants in her bowfront. They do look truely amazing! It's very hard to tell the difference between them and real. Lisa-we need to figure a way to get a pic or two of your tanks on here!
  10. If you aren't already, I would suggest feeding new Life Spectrum food. Some sinks pretty quick, and some stays on the surface-helps to give more food avail. to both!
  11. Looks awesome HOSStile! And, there's no need to thank me-I will thank you again. Means alot to know my stand is out there for people to see!
  12. :welcome: Lot's of good reading here for sure! Good luck with the new tank=won't be long till you want a bigger one too!
  13. HAHA :P Actually, the new Beardie!
  14. Probably too late for this .02 cents, but like Muck said, that KILZ SMELLS! You can get a water-based version though-dries fast, and doesn't smell.
  15. check your e-mail- she's doing great for sure, eating like a little pig!
  16. Oh, well, if that's the case, the possibilities are ENDLESS! Wall tanks are cool for sure, but plan on staying there for awhile! I will pm. you a price on the one I listed above if you like! All kidding aside, I think alot more goes into the planning and maint. of the tank, than just size-Lisa's 72 was stunning to say the least! But yeah, I keep on dreaming, and drawing of my "large" tank too-it will be here by Christmas!! Now, just gotta get to B.C and collect the other 1000 lbs. of rock
  17. Please keep in mind that Jim had ALOT of custom mods. to a starphire tank! (hence the price!) But you really don't need to spend THAT much on a tank for your turtle (s). (but you know all this, working at a "cool" petstore! ) That 120 gal. you guy's sold would hold 2 for quite some time, I would guess! (check w/Toirtis, he knows EVERYTHING! )
  18. Don't quote me on this, but I think Riverfront could sex him for you. If I recall, they charge $35 for this. Maybe Petland would be getting more of these guy's in, and you could "pck" through! I still have the actual 90 gal. tank for sale-very slightly used. (like 2 months-no water) $100 would do it! If you are looking for the 190 gal, I believe Jim paid at least 10X that much! But it's starphire glass.
  19. Hopefully he will settle in fine! Looks like you have all the bases covered, but you would know more about that than me for sure! I had a 6" Red eared-slider in a 33, with 2 AC 500's! Way too small!
  20. Hmmm. Not sure if all the pics. came through! Looks to me like only 1/2-still lots o room for that turtle!
  21. http://www.aquariumstands.net/Presidential.htm Cheap, shameless plug, Kim! However, your turtle WOULD fit in there comfortably in about 50 yrs! Actually, he looks quite comfortable in the 65 gal for now!
  22. Welcome Lisa! Boy, you weren't kidding when you said you would be going to B.C. soon! Not to worry, I know :poo: about these computer's too!
  23. Great pic Tom! looks like they are lovin their new home for sure. Need more? Take care, Rob
