  1. If you sit on a toilet plunger and it comes out of your mouth, I think that'll feel a little worse than "awkward" :boxed: I would think it would depend on the following. 1. Whether you sat on the stick or the rubber cup end. 2. If the the plunger was being used to remove something clogging up the toilet such as kids toys, a rather large dead fish, or heaven forbid a large poop, you would have to subtract the portion of the plunger below the level of the toilet seat in question. Certainly there would be penetration but hardly to the level described in the quote. Thus possibly it would just feel "awkward" 3. Failing this if you managed to sit on the stick end of a plunger that was just stuck to the floor and you wear not wearing pants which would surely make self penetration to any great distance highly unlikely, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!! Oh ....... you weren't asking my opinion? I hope it all works out with the fish
  2. I hide them from the wife by setting them up at work, I just set up tank #4 there along with 10 running at home.
  3. Worked for me here is a picture from article Apistogramma Cacatuoides
  4. Send a PM to Jim (Grumpy) and see what he is asking for his rig. The beauty with his is if you decide to go salt, you have the tank and sump to do it. You can see what he has here. http://albertaaquatica.com/index.php?showtopic=6161
  5. If you can source a stand you can get a 90 gal. tank with glass lids for 180 and heaters for around 25. Go look at Golds first. http://www.cichlids.ca/
  6. I am just curious as to why it is such a problem to have extra water run out by the intake tube. Yes this water that comes out isn't filtered per say but it is aerated and I think if you blocked that flow and your filter plugged up the water would find its way to the floor. Its like the oil filter for your car, even if it plugs up solid a valve is pushed open to allow the oil to continue flowing to the upper engine parts. If my filter was plugged in my AC I would much rather have it flow out that opening than not flowing at all. Besides when you rinse out the filter you can definately see that it is doing its job.
  7. IMO You can never have enough filtration, the xp3 should be fine. I use 300 gal. worth of filtration. 2 AC 500s for our 90. In it I run 2 200 watt heaters which is more than enough. You could probably get by with 1 200 watt, but if your house heating went bad it would be nice to have the extra capacity with 2. But use more filter than the xp2 for sure.
  8. I found that putting a coat hanger in their shirts while they are wearing them and hanging them in the closet when you can't watch them closely keeps them out of trouble. BOB? We call him Rob but we can change. Oh and I was kidding about the coat hanger, just so you know, and welcome to AA.
  9. Maybe it is just me but if I was to negotiate a price I would do so through a PM ,you know bargain in private. You may talk someone down in public and peak the interest of other people that may ultimately snatch that very thing away from you. I for one if I see someone lowballing someone else in public and I have a possible use for it, and who doesn't need something for our aquariums or computers, what have you. I will often out bid them if I felt what the seller was offering was a reasonable price to start with. If you low ball someone in private and they accept your offer you don't have to worry about someone reading the thread and spoiling your deal. It may not be your intention but with public speculation about what an item is worth, you may just turn it into an auction after all. JMO JMO
  10. I seem to remember that Valerie said there was going to be something different and to "stay tuned". :well:

    Hello

  12. Vapor hold me back ....hold me back...... :welcome:
  13. Or as I said vote on a lfs from good to terrible. If the majority of votes are good then it is probably a good place to go. If terrible, well you know. Given we all only have one vote the results shouldn't be very skewed. Personally I like to hear the horror stories of others, I think if someone was pulling a story out of his pooper he or she would probably be found out in short order. JMO JMO
  14. If you put anything with an oilers emblem on it next to your fish, the next call you will be making is to Ripley because your fish will be laughing their asses off, or belly up because they think they are now in Edmonton. Oh and nice fish tank, BTW
  15. I put lots of different cichlids and noncichlids together with no problems. I have large gouramis with a 7 inch green terror, 6 inch severums , 5 inch Zebras and some others including an ameca splenden who was a bad girl in her own tank. That being said, if so much as a fin gets chewed on another fish, the arrangement would change. Any fish that is killed by a tank mate is one too many. IMO If you want simple naked aggression, buy a redline snakehead and put anything smaller than it in the tank. A pike cichlid with convicts works as you stated until the pike gets big enough to anihilate them in one foul swoop. Personally I like to see energetic fish that flare and posture at their tank mates, not eat them.
  16. You are right Ty. In Firefox you have to right click and select view image. In Internet Explorer it seems to work normally. Go Figure
  17. It was you and you gave it to us. :bang1: JK JK JK
  18. If the ears were smaller I'd swear I posed for that.
  19. Personally I thought the fact that it said in the title of Vendor review " no bashing" that the mods were given the right to remove and remind people of just that. Statements that were nothing more than inflamatory off the cuff remarks should of been simply removed and the "offender" told why. Perhaps in any review a rating system similar to voting which would offer a consensus of what people thought of the particular LFS or supplier in confidence. I think we tossed out the baby with the bath water on this one. PS Golds is still the best. IMO
  20. Golds!!!! it is located just past the outskirts of Edmonton...... In CALGARY Funny you will also find the best Hockey Team there, no not Golds :grr: Calgary!!! Mind you if Albert could handle a stick like he does a net
