  1. The ACE fall auction is booked for Sunday October 28th, 2012 High Park Community Hall 11032-154 Street NW, Edmonton Deliveries: 09:00 AM – 10:00 AM Viewing: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Auction: 11:00 AM – FINISH Please book your lots with Michael at mituan@hotmail.com. Anybody can buy, cash only but only members of Aquarium Clubs can sell (we'll even let Calgary members in).
  2. I know Marineland has come out with a LED system for planted tanks. It has a built in timer with a combination of 1W 6500k lights and 3W RGB lights. I haven't seen any in Edmonton yet but Big Al's says he has ordered some in. He also has some Aquatic Life LED lights that he says aren't too bad for planted tanks.
  3. Female peacock cichlids are nearly impossible to tell apart. You may be able to narrow it down by finding out what types of peacocks the person you got the female fry from had.
  4. Like Jason, right now I have orange cherries with a breeding group of ABN's and both are populatiions are booming. I've also kept shrimps with celestial danios, some other small danios and endlers.
  5. but that would require some "diy" skill which is sadly lacking in the fishclubgirl household.... I know, it is hard to use scissors to cut sponge just a bit bigger than the slotted gate. Myself I like to grab some filter floss and wrap it around the gate and then wedge it in.
  6. rillis are a variation of cherry shrimp. They have been bred so that there is that clear body usually around the saddle. They are about as easy to breed as cherry shrimps.
  7. He sent one last email in April. I'm not sure what he has left in stock as he is moving facilities this Spring and Summer. He won't send out another email list till the fall. You can try emailing him at fish@belowwater.com to see what he has left.
  8. Canadian Aquatics also sells something called No Planaria.
  9. Just a reminder, this is the last meeting before the summer break. As well you can have a say in who will be your executive committee for the next two years. There should be some munchies, raffle prizes and of course Han's Quiz on all things fish related.
  10. I've got 3 of them. They are really active and gluttonous like most catfish. There is one person on this board that is breeding them and you can see juveniles for sale at the ACE auctions.
  11. The final meeting before the summer break will be upon us soon. Date: June 5th Place: Allendale Community Hall 6330-105A St Time: 7:30pm Agenda: Hans Annual Quiz Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd top scores Elections for the executive committee
  12. Michelle, there will be a June meeting on Tuesday June 5th. No topic, just Han's annual quiz with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. As well there will be elections for executives. Location will be at Allendale Community Hall 6330-105A St Time: 7:30 pm I will be posting this in the ACE forum as well. Raymond
  13. AC got in a bunch early this week. I don't think he has them for sale yet, still under observation.
  14. AC had Red Devil Crabs and have had Vampire Crabs. Big Als has or had Vampire Crabs along with panther crabs.
  15. Have you tried glassdude@live.ca?
  16. There will be a fall auction, at this time the date is not determined.
  17. Aquarium Central also carries geisemann bulbs.
  18. The eggs look like Corydoras eggs.
  19. No, but you might have gotten a great deal on a 120 gallon tank
  20. Yes some guy with a pony tail is breeding those and no idea what he is going to be bringing to the CAS auction.
  21. I picked up a culture of banana worms, Chilatherina alleni, Betta occellata, a bag of pleco caves. There were not as many tanks as previous auctions, lots of angelfish, a decent selection of cichlids. For shrimp there were cherries and green shrimps only this time. A good selection of different catfishes other than albino bristlenose catfishes. A nice selection of plants, some of which are not seen often at auctions. As for the fall, it will probably only be an auction. The show will probably happen next spring (May long weekend?) as most of the speakers are already booked up for this year.
  22. I've got a group of 9 clown loaches, currently in with a group of 9 geophagus sp. red head tapajos, 1 NTT, 2 Paretroplus maculatus, a few plecos, 1 soldier catfish and 1 saratheradon sp. mudfeeder. I know its overstocked so eventually somethings will be moving.
  23. I did order some in from Below Water about a year ago. No luck in breeding them and I think my last one died last week (or molted). Keeping my eye on his list for when he gets more in.
