  1. depends on the size of the tank. my 90 has a 1800 gph and my 135 has a 2400 gph pumps, both magdrive. when it comes to turning water to much is just right. (i have a fx5 on a 33 gal)
  2. I had 6 congo tetras in the 108 and I have 14 in the 350. you could fit 14,000 tetras in a 350gal
  3. nice tank. but is a 33 gal sump big enough for a 180 gal?
  4. is thier any chance on a price break if we do a group buy?
  5. if you have a buisness licence or know someone who does, comercial lighting for any and all mh/hps bulbs
  6. $400 for the 75 gal tank, a really nice stand, glass cover and a light. I'd say that qualifies as a good price. Thanks for the tip! not that good of price, i bought a 120 gal (6') with top and a steel stand for less than that. check around if you think ba's has the best price on ANYTHING
  7. before i knew how easy and cheap it was to do myself, i had illusions (concept aquariums) drill my 135, he charged me 30 bucks a hole (x4) if the dude from giant will do all your holes for fifty bones, thats a pretty good deal. get your bulkheads FIRST, a 1.5 inch hole does you no good if you have 2" bulkheads, or vice versa. take your time and think it through, do it right and you only have to do it once
  8. i use black 2"pvc tubing to run over the tank edge with a ballvalve on the outside to start and stop (no siphon needed) and have that connected to a sump discharge hose (10 bucks for 25') it drains at about 800gph, straight into the floor drain, real quick. i have a blue rainbarrel beside the tank to replace the water i drained, have a 1800gph magdrive to re-fill the tank. a 50gal waterchange takes me 5 min and i dont lift any water, just flip switches
  9. can usually find them in the bargain finder for about 15-20 bucks, sometimes even steamcleaned
  10. i've had them before, they went away on thier own
  11. it was a bad batch. go to mfk and you will see on one of thier threads its a north america and canada wide "bad batch". and if power surges are getting more common, they should consider that when making these products. JMHO
  12. houses are built stronger than you think, i wouldent hesitate to put a 125gal anywhere in my house. and if you need piece of mind, teleposts are cheap insurance
  13. wow! thats awesome. you are obviously VERRY dedicated to the hobby
  14. i found a bunch in my 50 gal sump that i set up a few months ago on my breeder setup. no idea where they came from, all the media and pre-filter was new and never prev used  as long as they dont start getting in the pump impeller...
  15. i gave up on fluval YEARS ago, exept for a fx5 i won at an ace auction a couple years ago. imho, THIER JUNK! problem, after problem, after problem :cuss: . i've since converted my tanks to trickles and will NEVER use that overpriced junk ever again!
  16. i would like to see some long tearm study about acrylic, if it fogs or distorts over the long run like many people claim it does. has anyone read such a study? where would i find one? allready checked mfk
  17. saw that on bcaquaria. he claimed it happened while doing some tank maintenance, i've yet to have to put "that" in the tank to do ANY kind of maintenance.
  18. i find it irrelevent what the arro eats in the wild, this vid was made for one sick individule's personal enjoyment, and THATS why it's so wrong. everyone feel free to pm the video poster your thoughts like i did, and remember, in a pm, you can say ANYTHING you want! :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:
  19. personally i woulg go starphire. i'll take glass over acrylic over the longrun. unless you move every couple of years, the weight shouldent be an issue...
  20. what kind of twisted person?? if you log into youtube you can pm the poster of this vid your thoughts, i did.
  21. make me an offer i cant refuse, i am verry reasonable. it has a pricetag on it marked 160.00, its brand new in the box with all the goodies that come with it. im open to trades to, unusual rocks? lights?
  22. thiers a thread on monsterfishkeepers on perfecto tanks, thier big ones have HUGE issues. i have a 15 year old 6' and still tight as the day i bought it, i'd be seriously choked if my tank blew out after only one year
