  1. i dont see dimentions and specific scratches proving its his rightfully his tank..
  2. im sorry for the bad luck and hope something came of it. I do have to ask why you would have left the fx5 and the lights outside? wouldnt they have been easy to put in the door.. heck even the metal stand is easy to toss inside before you went and got the friend. Im guessing I just missed something here..
  3. pull everything out and clean it thoroughly. Its a common problem and most of the time it ends up being that there is too much media in the baskets or the media is clogged. happens a lot to fx5 owners
  4. haha not a problem. Ill find out today when I call her tonight.
  5. The piranha tank actually has 2 pieces in the tank. they are each about 3 feet long. Ill have to ask the girlfriend what site she ordered them from but all the wood in these 2 tanks basically came in one order for a fair price... Thanks for all the comments guys. These are 2 of the 7 tanks currently running, with the others all being smaller
  6. sand is awsome for plants. You should pick up a box of florite tabs also. they are about $20 but they do really help and you only need one ever month or 2
  7. i have a 10" rhino pleco in my 170 mixed tank and he doesnt even get as much as a dirty look in there..
  8. they typically carry senegals at the petland in red deer but they are typically deformed fins and scales etc. You would have to look carefully
  9. blennys are so cute lol. nice fish!
  10. 6.6-6.8!!! wow lol. I have to purposely try to get my PH that low in my piranha tank lol... otherwise, I would get some prime and quit using the big als stuff. I would also start saving for atleast powerhead or something to get the flow up. 55 gallon filter will never run at what its rated IMO.
  11. thats where i was headed.. We have it bad in red deer too, as im sure you know lol
  12. how long has the tank been running and had fish in it? how long after starting the tank up from the start did you wait until you put fish in the tank? (was there a full cycle completed) how long has the cloudiness been noticable? what are the water peramaters? what kind of water conditioner do you use? what size of filter do you have and how often have you cleaned it?
  13. i have a mix of victorian, tangs and malawi in our 170 with pretty high turnover with large powerheads. Of all the fish, the catfish are the only ones that seem to enjoy the current. the malawi and the tangs tend to stay away from the current all together
  14. we always use a mortal and pestle to crush up the therra nls .5mm pellets. the dayglow babies we have now are starting to take the .55mm now without crushing them up

    Driftwood

just boil as many pots of water as you can and put the drift wood in the tub. pour as much boiling water over them as you can. Obviously clean the tub thoroughly with straight hot water to get any detergents or shampoo etc off the tubs surfaces Kyle
  16. The fx5 is famous for this. Mine does it when there is too much media in the baskets or when the media is restricting flow. Polishing pads and filter floss cause the most problems. 100% agree. FX5 are notorious for this and its happened to me a lot when its floss pad is too dirty or that i have too much stuff in the baskets. pull everything out and start over lol
  17. nice fish! what is the total count of fish in the tank currently?
  18. research fish teburculosis and bad indigestion in fish. both can have cases like this.. With TB they wont eat much anymore though.. btw. im very sorry that you have to go through that
  19. try canadian tire. you can get up to around a 20oz bottle filled there for paintballing cheap there
  20. hes one of our favorites for sure! the chocolate pleco is my favorite though lol
  21. FTS breeding pair of Dayglows currently the female is in a tank separated with a mouthful of babies! some other inhabitants:
