  2. what size of tank are you thinking of using one in? I ALWAYS over filter tanks. so for a 90 gallon tank, I would use 2 of the 303A's, a sponge filter and a internal filter or powerhead. THATS me though. most would say one 303A is more than enough for a 90 gal tank.
  3. lol, it's still not as neat as it should be but a guy gets a little impatient and does a few shortcuts, the rest of my you house can still tell I'm an electrician because all the electrical is half finished. Thanks again for the huge piece of driftwood I went for a swim last night with the rays and started to do a little aquascaping but really needed someone on the outside to tell me how it looked, so it's not exactly what I wanted yet. Spent almost an hour in there moving stuff around and playing with the rays, quite a cool experience. Also put in the air stones but need to find some suction cups to hold them in place. I definitely owe you a couple favours now. you should pick up some these weighted air stones: http://www.igopro-on...one-p/aqs-1.htm Asian Air Stone - 4.3cm x 1.5cm Availability:: Usually Ships in 1 to 2 Business Days Description Aquarium Air Diffuser Self-weighted to stay on the bottom of your aquarium Each color level can be adjusted to change the size of the bubbles released Expandable by combing two or more 4 piece units together. 4. Why not get a metal stand and skin it in wood. They a structurally strong, very inexpensive and can easily be skinned. Just PL the wood to the metal frame.

  7. in order from furthest from the return water to tank: Tray #1: Bio media (bio-max, bio-rings, etc) Tray #2: Bio Media Sponges Tray #3: Filter floss (for all the small particules Tray #4: Chemical media (carbon)
  8. I would think general maintenance would be an issue. i use to have an 8 foot tank that I swapped out for 2 X 4 footers. I find that maintaining a clean and healthy tank on a 2 X 90 gallons is much easier than one large tank.
  9. we carry the HW-303A The ONLY difference between the 303B and 303A in the size of the canister and amount of media. the pump is the same and therefore the rating is the same. "upto" 120 gallons http://sourceaquatics.webs.com/filtersaccessories.htm
  10. we have those too as well as internal filters (powerheads with prefilters) and they sure do pack a lot of power...quite too.
  11. we have a ton of sand and gravel. We do do carry caribsea brand as well. 22-25lbs bags for $15.00 each I believe we have the salt & pepper look you are looking for
  12. Actually, SunSun is the manufacturer of the marinland filters, so you do in fact have a simpler looking marinland canister. Bow Valley/Source Aquatics has the slightly larger ones on sale now for $125.00, however, ours do NOT have the built in UV light. A 9Watt UV is simply too weak to be pushing 370 gal/hr through and it really is just a gimmick. A minimum 30 watt UV would be needed to push that sort of volume through to get any real use out of it.
  13. Where did you pick your up from?

  17. did you ammonia, nitrate and nitrite readings form the tank? The results may help determine the problem as well.
  18. http://www.hagen.com/pdf/aquatic/FX5_user_manual_EN.pdf Page 18, 19 and 20 Go with what the manufacturer recommends OR fill the whole filter with with bio-media (rings, etc) and use it as a bio-logical filter. Less maintenance that way

  20. Daily water changes are only required/recommended for smaller / juvenile Discus to help them grow. Once they get to 4.0-4.5" + sizes the water changes can be reduced to 50% once to twice a week. For example; Gold's only does one water per week on ALL thier tanks.
  21. Well thank you. Most of those pics were taken in my tanks....

  24. I use the GE II silcone. They only sell it in small tubes at the Home depot by my house. HOWEVER, the best stuff to use is: GE Silicone Construction 1200 Series Sealant (SCS1200) Which is what we use in the shop to build our tanks
