Actually speaking you kno that I gutted this tank and still trying to get rid of plants haha! 6. Ugh I'm so disappointed that I had to work BOTH auctions.
  7. Maybe be careful when putting your hand in the tank? Ya dude you wouldn't want to lose a finger!! or even worse your ENTIRE ARM!
  8. I was the one to post under you equipment thread where you selling your 2 tanks, I did not "moan" at you one bit but point you in the right direction, I also informed you what you had to do to post in the classifed section. I don't feel that I was rude or out of place offering my help and information. On a side note I have a peice of driftwood that is about 20 inches high 12 inches long and about 8 inches wide. It's in the shape of an upside down T. If you want pictures please PM me, and If you want i'm charging you double for the "moan" comment - That is if it's directed at me... haha
  9. Actually the posts referring to Buying and Selling Livestock and Equipment is all based out of the Classified - That being said, you being a newer member to AA I think it has a Post requirement before you can post and look at the threads. I could be wrong but I want to say it's either 15 or 50. I know that's a wide range but I'm sure a moderator will direct you to the proper information.
  10. Woohoo I"m excited!!! haha hopefully in 20 some days i'll have a bunch swimming free!
  11. Hey, I bought these fish off Patrik about a month ago. I bought a trio 1M 2F. They are currently housed in a 20G tank. The tank they are currently in has a rock cave and sand substrate. I came home tonight to look in at these little guys only to find this. I had a feeling that this would be soon after seeing the male with bright amazing colors but no other signs of breeding behavior but that. Anyways now for the pictures. Sorry for quality Taken on my iPhone. Almost all the same picture but you get the Idea!!!
  12. HEy, Althought there is a huge knowledge base on this forum and there are more then a few that have built successful DiY plywood tanks. I would direct you in the direction of MFK - MonsterFishKeepers.com --- There are 100's of posts and articles about the DIY of the plywood what worked what didn't with pictures and alot of discussion. I'm sure you'll find info from people here on AA as well, as for this post I can't really point you in any direction as I have never built a plywood myself. Good luck, And welcome to the site
  13. Okay I will PM you a link to the picture tonight

  14. Best way seriously is to just let them pair off, you won't be able to mess it up and it won't go unnoticed when they pair off. When they pair you can either removed all other tank mates or remove parents. IF it's there first spawn the chances are that their first batch of fry won't even make it to the free swimming stage.
  15. WOW. Please tell us more about his specs - Lighting Filtration and what not.. I'm curious!! How big is that tank?
  16. Parents just transported a bunch of SW and FW From ALberta to Manitoba - These fish were packed the night before at 7Pm - They didn't get home until 9pm the next night and they all survived without a problem
  17. Morphine

    Hey!

Welcome, also from a former Manitoba Resident.
  18. Welcome more then a lifetime of knowledge you have alot of catching up and reading to do!
  19. I would say first of all that your cheapest option would be a plywood tank with a glass/acyrlic viewing pane. Also you don't have that much room to work with behind your tank saying that I think you cheapest option would be a sump for filtration whether you go saltwater or fresh. i believe if you go over 36'' you have to start to build differently to accompany the bowing of the viewing pane. I think your glass/acyrlic should be sitting around 2.5'' actually @ 8x3x3 --- http://www.theaquatools.com/aquarium-diagnoser Kind of a nice tool for the DIY'er I think your best option would be to post on MFK, Their most likely alot more expirenced in building something along these lines from first handers rather then in the AA forum.
  20. You can also order lots of your dry ferts online, trick is finding the right place. I beileve KNO3 isn't shippable anymore(Dam 9/11) nor is it buyable in dry forum needs to be mixed. I hear good things from All Seasons in Edmonton w/ I know a few have bought dry ferts from there before, although I haven't made it down there one of these days I plan to!
  21. I'de say carefully catch the shrimp and keep them separate, especially if your changin substrate. Also when adding the water make sure you don't stirr up the water because you don't want to put these guys back to a dirty tank. The shrimp are pretty sensitive to big changes and that could make them kick the bucket. I would keep as much as the water as possible, don't clean your filter on your fluval edge and your shrimp will be okay in a bucket until your done. I wouldn't even bother with a heater filter and whatever else you want to add to your icecream pale. If your really worried maybe an airstone but I've never had a problem with nothing. If your not keeping your cherry shrimp outside in the snow the temp will stay the same.
  22. When I kept convicts, They spawned once every 2 weeks If I took the eggs out or they ate the swimmers mine also looked like they were going to spawn again when they had small fry swimming around the tank. They didn't spawn once they had babies in the tank, I even left those same fry in the tank until they were 1.5 - 2 inches - There was 48 of them.
  23. No jason it's not, it's one of my very first plants that I bought from a pet store.
